Once ggg found out that he could take brooks big shots, it was just a matter of time

I don't think he ever adjusted to his speed,he just began to use his size to push him to the ropes, but he never could be effective in the center of the ring.

It showed Golovkin to be a more limited fighter than we thought

At no point of the fight was Golovkin in any danger of losing. He fought like he said he would (street fight).

If he doesn't respect your power you're fcked, simple and brutal as that.

This is why this fight, the Monroe fight or the Murray fight looked the way they did. He doesn't get hit on purpose, he just chooses to loosen up defensively because there's 0 to none chance of getting KO'ed. He doesn't also need to focus that much on boxing you because he knows his power and pure strenght are sufficient enough to get him the W. That kind of attitude is a little arrogant and might be the reason of his downfall one day but it is what it is.

The only way to get the W against him is to beat him at his own game. You have to bully the bully. Occam's razor...

If you're not strong and have enough power to make him respect you, you're not beating Gennady Golovkin no matter how beautiful and smooth your footwork is. Even the fact that you're Cuban and are considered to be a slick fighter won't help.

Also LMFAO at the notion that Brook hurt Golovkin

it waters down the win because we already knew golovkin was a middleweight & if golovkin was as good as he's said to be there was no way he should have had to skip his entire plan & rely strictly on size and wild haymakers.

it truly makes brook look better.

someone said that golovkin is old and his abilities are fading. who knows. maybe it's true.
            That was his gameplan.

He didn't need to be more cautious and box beautifully because his opponent wasn't strong enough to beat him. So he chose to just butcher him.

Golovkin gets hit too much. But it doesn't seem to matter.

Maybe he felt he desperately needed the stoppage against Brook because the judges would screw him in a decision. Didn't Hearn claim that the judges' cards had Brook ahead?

Did you see the punch stats? Why did the judges have Brook ahead??

Anyway, if that's true, Golovkin was smart to go all out.

^^ what I said in a different thread this morning... he put his foot on the accelerator in the fifth.

And no, Brook was not going to beat him on any night... just forget it.

BigDramashow you make me laugh. Before the fight you were worse than Sky-Matchroom in promoting this farce of a fight. I agree with what you're saying though, Golovkin threw any gameplans and boxing out of the window and rushed Brook because he had no respect for his power or size. Kell won the second round and that's about it, he took a beating breaking his orbital bone, he might not be the same again.

This I saw, it was pretty obvious too.

Having said all that, it was clear GGG had ZERO respect for Brooks power so just walked forward without a care. It was sloppy by his own admission but he was looking for a quick win.
