Jacobs is 29, is American, is well spoken, is a good guy, and has a story that resonates beyond boxing (in addition to actually being a really good fighter). With the Saunders, Eubank Jr, and Lee fights as potential options (in addition to locally important tick-over fights, against a guy like Avtandil Khurtsidze) for Barclays Center, and the lure of a Canelo fight in Vegas (whenever he's ready), it's clear as day that scared money doesn't make money.

There's no point in the folks behind Daniel Jacobs delaying his shot forever; eventually, we're supposed to see how good Jacobs is. And, I doubt that DiBella is going to wait until Jacobs is in his mid 30s to find out.

Hilarious that you seem to believe that K2 can bid $6m "no problem", yet they were so short on money that they had to put a $4m fight card on PPV (knowing full well what it was) to try and make things work.
File all that with the rest of your comical projections.

With a 6m bid they're only committing to 1.5m for Jacobs, same as Lemieux. Remember when you were saying if Haymon wins the bid, no Ppv upside for Ggg? Well here you go, 1.5m flat with no upside for Jacobs with a 6m bid. I'm sure Ggg would be flexible about his share, they could well go higher and get Jacobs for under 2 Quillins and no upside

Floyd's in a class of his own, but if Jacobs pulls off the win, there's no doubt in my mind that they'll put up a "Home of The Champ" banner for Jacobs.

Maybe you didn't notice, but Jacobs-Mora II actually happened in Reading, PA, at a venue called Santender Arena.

Also, interesting how you have purse information when no such information pops up on search, lol.
yep, Barclays gave Jacobs such a big "push" that they pushed him all the way to Pennsylvania.

I cant believe you are really this ******......

$1.5m to Jacobs and $4.5m to Golovkin, after K2 already lost money on the Golovkin-Lemieux fight card that paid out $3.5m to the main event, lol.

If DiBella Entertainment is taking the financial risk on the fight, why would Golovkin get any of the upside on anything, let alone the PPV? Matchroom Sport didn't give Golovkin any share on the upside for the Brook fight, in case you didn't know.

Daniel Jacobs has already made $1.5m for the Quillin fight, let alone whatever other money he's picked up for the Barclays "Brooklyn Boxing" sponsorship and other side deals; if $1.5m is all K2's willing to put up, I have no doubt that Jacobs and his camp will be more than happy to take the fight to bid.

I can't believe that you're ****** enough to actually think that everyone magically forgot about the new insurance rules that went on-line in New York at the start of the month, lol.

Golovkin-Jacobs is a marquee fight, and a fight that will likely end up on PPV (I doubt that Haymon utilizes any of his PBC money to put Golovkin on terrestrial TV).

          don't be an idiot

Lol dumba$$, I just explained why Jacobs's team wouldn't be happy to go to purse bids. K2 can put in a sky high bid and end up paying Jacobs less than the good faith offer they already made, with no upside. Ggg is gonna be very flexible about his share. And if Haymon wants to pay 6m to Ggg to slaughter his guy on Sho, it's all win for team Ggg and Hbo

exactly. But youre talking to a brick wall. All they can say is "but but but haymon wins bid ggg vacates doe".

Considering the current budget situation at HBO, and the probability that GGG would ghoul Jacobs, I'd bet a ribeye at Ruths Chris that if Haymon were to win the bid, and actually wants to go through with the fight, that Peter Nelson would give GGG the flexibility to take that fight.........

At which point Haymon calls Jacobs into his office ala Peter Quillin, slides a stack of money across the table and tells him to vacate.

It's hilarious to see you think that K2 can put out a bid for $6m, in contract to the WBA, yet not pay Golovkin his contracted purse on the fight, since Golovkin is "flexible about his share". gtfoh

Beyond that, it's not all win for anyone, because Golovkin has shown the world, on many an occasion, that he's there to be hit and Jacobs has shown, on many an occasion, that he's got the ability to hit pretty friggin hard. You add that Jacobs walks into any fight with legit straight boxing skills (while also being comfortable southpaw/orthodox) and it's no wonder why Team Golovkin goes to such pains to only mention Jacobs' name when absolutely necessary.

Ignore the reality all you want, but Haymon isn't going to have to bid anywhere near $6m for the fight, for the simple fact that K2 isn't going to bid anywhere near $6m.

$3m to Golovkin/$1m to Jacobs is, in my opinion, going to be the split of the bid and, simply put, I don't see K2 having the confidence to put down anywhere near that amount of money, out of their own pocket, on any Golovkin fight.

I can see DiBella/Haymon laying out the $4m on Jacobs; win or lose, Golovkin-Jacobs is Daniel Jacobs' shot at superstardom. With the fight in play to happen before his 30th birthday, Team Jacobs could easily be looking at a 5-year run for Jacobs to cash out on.
