supposedly ggg will be making around 5 or 6 mil vs brook, so that means he will be getting at least 6 or 7 vs canelo at 160 lbs, if he turns down an offer like that on a fight that could change his life then i dont know what else can be said... the best money will come if he beats canelo, not just by fighting him...

Where as Canelo continues to get HBO PPVs and dates for PPVs before he even announces his opponents. If HBO realizes who is the A side then GGG needs to play his part as the B side and agree to the terms if he really wants the fight. He will get a career payday but Canelo no matter when this fight takes place with take the lion share. GGG is the real road block here because he keeps thinking he's a bigger deal then he is and trying to dictate weight, money and other things that he is in no position and has no leverage in.
Very true. What people are also missing is that Canelo has a PPV deal with HBO and it is not Canelo's or Golden Boy's responsibility to offer Golovkin any more money than a flat rate. It is K2's responsibility to get a PPV deal with HBO. When Canelo fought Khan, Khan had a Box Nation deal in place in the UK so he was bring money to the table. Can that be said about a GGG who's supposed fan base is mostly a Mexican fan base that already supports Canelo to point that he has the Mexican Azteca, TV and US HBO PPV deals? What exactly does Golovkin bring to the negotiations table in a Canelo fight.....not much.

Furthermore, there is no Lineal/RING championship mandated purse split because there is no mandatory opponent. Golden Boy/Canelo are not ****** enough to allow any of the sanctioning bodies to take over this fight with their rules and mandates.

Those are rhetorical questions. This one, I'm actually asking: Canelo got NO PPV upside with the Floyd fight? I highly doubt that's accurate either. So yeah, except for all these things that are different, it's the same.
FACT Canelo was a bigger draw even when the fought Mayweather then GGG is right now or has EVER been in his career. Floyd took over 90% of the money and got a catchweight in is favor. Canelo agreed to sacrifices to make the fight NOW something GGG is never willing to do. GGG the master of calling out bigger names then being unreasonable to budge and turning around feeding his fans crap fights like Wade or gross mismatches like Brook that even the WBA refuses to sanction. No one to blame but his handlers who make him think he's a bigger deal then he really is. Too entitled to move up to 154 or 168 for bigger fights, to too entitled to offer more money to his opponents for bigger fights, ect. Floyd, Canelo, Oscar ect might be divas but they at least got the resume and ppvs sales to back up it. GGG is a diva in mindset only. Crap resume filled with interim and vacant titles and no quality names and non existent ppv sales.

          • "Because we are in the era of Canelo, it is Canelo's time."
He actually said that as if it was an encouraging notion.

                • ODLH wants to appear willing but prices himself out. What a surprise! I'm sure Canelo wants the fight - fighters believe in themselves. His team know he'd have problems so they'll wait for a year or two until GGG's age becomes a factor. Boxing used to be about pride, now it's just about money.

It also would be the most $$$$ GGG has ever made. Isn't that what he tells everyone else???

Yet Canelo is still outselling Golovkin. Golovkin vs Brook is not an HBO PPV but Canelo vs Smith is, so no matter how poorly Canelo vs Smith does, it will still have more HBO PPV's than Golovkin vs Brook.
