And its not HBO vs PBC with a purse bid. Its K2 vs some PBC promoter, probably DiBella. And lets not forget World of Boxing (~$9M iirc) beat out DiBella Entertainment (~$7M iirc) in the Wilder vs Povetkin purse bid.

I don't see how you could throw more than $6M or $7M at this fight either so I think this would be in K2's price range easy for the upside Jacobs' name would bring to GGG's resume. Mainly doe I don't think its a forgone conclusion who'd win the purse bid doe.
World of boxing will pay 30 million for a fight. K2 is cheap and in USA even cheaper.

So Haymon doesn't lose the money he overpays for the fight to try and get Jacobs a vacated world title.

Smart business move, if Jacobs is unwilling to fight Golovkin.

so it is a smart business move when it comes to jacobs, but when it comes to GGG is simply ducking, right?

Smart business move for Haymon. Jacobs is obviously ducking, but who gives a **** he does nothing for Golovkin's resume anyway imo.

Same with Collazo and Porter for Thurman.

Haymon seems like he likes to keep guys at same purse regardless of opponent.

I have a feeling they'll accept double for Golovkin but you notice Golovkin never makes offers?
I think the $1.4M for Molina, $1.5M for Porter thing only happens within the PBC universe. I suspect Haymon has deals with his main guys that give them a certain wage just for fighting cuz if you look at most of Haymon's guys you will see this sorta trend like you are also suggesting.

I don't think this reality stays the same outsie of the PBC universe. And lets be for real if this fight doesn't happen on HBO, HBO won't let it happen on NBC or Showtime. I suspect its fine to throw Wade, Charles Martin & Breazeale to the wolves on other networks, but I don't see PBC letting Jacobs cross the network divide. Again I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like HBO has invested too much into GGG & PBC has invested too much into Jacobs for either side to let the other guy go to the other side for the amount of money this fight is worth.

Let's be honest, you'll never blame Golovkin for anything.

This isn't the hugest fight in the world doe & PBC isn't gonna be throwing out tons of money for it either. And lets not forget NY's new insurance requirement is front & center on NY promoters minds & this is most likely a NY fight that would have NY's Lou DiBella involved in the purse bid.

And like I keep saying I don't even expect the money to be the biggest problem unless its Jacobs just not willing to fight for $2M cuz of the HBO/PBC fighters angle to this whole thing. Both en****** are seemingly pretty committed to their fighters & when there isn't a ton of money in a fight that network divide tends to make fights unmakeable. Big name HBO vs big name PBC fight issues are the new big name HBO vs big name Showtime fight issues.

                      Those are reasonable numbers.

But the main point is that if Golovkin and Jacobs can't negotiate a deal then I don't want to see HBO being the reason the fight can't get made through purse bids at least. Like what happened with Kovalev-Stevenson.
