Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: If WBA Issues Order, Jacobs Fight Can Happen

Calm down with the nutthuggery comments & the criticism towards random numbers I'm throwing out with these guys wanting more money than fights are worth. Whatever Jacobs wants for this fight I don't believe its a number that'll be reasonable to make the fight happen. If this fight went to a purse bid & we got a true fair market value for this fight I'd bet its not enough to make the fight worthwhile for Jacobs to take.
Plus lets be real with GGG being a important HBO guy & Jacobs being an important PBC guy I don't believe this fight is gonna be makeable due to that reason alone, but if things were to get past all that chaos I believe Jacobs to not want this fight unless its a career high payday & lets be real neither of these guys are THAT f#cking popular to command some $10M purse split or something like that. This is like a ~$6M fight ($3.5M-$4M to GGG, $2M-$2.5M for Jacobs) at best I think. Or around that amount anyway.
And I definitely feel like this is one of those situations where PBC paydays ARE bad for making bigger fights outside of the PBC universe (even as a PBC fan & supporter) cuz if Jacobs is getting $1M+ for a Mora rematch why fight GGG for $2M? I can't think of a good reason why I would fight GGG for 10x the risk of Mora for only half the money.Comment

That's very like what will happen.
If HBO isn't willing to put up enough money to win the bid then they should let Golovkin fight Jacobs on PBC, though. It's not that big of a risk since he is favored to win and he'll come back to them as a more valuable commodity.Comment

Does K2 have a Russian billionaire that is willing to lose money bidding for them?
Haymon bid $5mil for that fight, more than the fight was worth. Is K2 willing to bid more than the fight is worth for Golovkin-Jacobs? I doubt it.Last edited by Robbie Barrett; 09-03-2016, 08:54 AM.Comment

I think you got it backwards, if Jacobs could make 2 million for Golovkin he'd take it but HBO will only offer enough for a million.Calm down with the nutthuggery comments & the criticism towards random numbers I'm throwing out with these guys wanting more money than fights are worth. If this fight happens then Canelo GGG fight would never happen cause Jacobs beats GGG and Canelo will claim GGG isn't worth fighting anymore. One of the more anticipated fights in the middleweight division is going to fall in line in the next few weeks - if everything goes as planned. On September 10th at the O2 Arena in London, IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight world champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) will defend his titles against IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, who is heading up by two divisions.
