Understand, Every lose he has on his record he lost imo but he is one of the best of the generation. I get pissed when people take his win away against Martinez. I wasnt around on this board back then but i can bet he wasnt the favorite. Im just saying give the guy his due. Its like the dumb asses who hate on Floyd, I dont like Floyd but you will never see me take away from what he did in the ring.

As a huge Sergio Martinez fan and member of this board before the fight happened, you're right. Most people believed Martinez would be too much for Cotto. However people also based that prediction on the health of Martinez' knee and we know now it wasn't healed. He had to wear a brace and you can see the difference in his physique as he came into the ring flabby. Either way I still give Cotto props for the win.

IMO Cotto is a really good fighter but not great. I respect that he faced everyone but didn't like how he carried himself post losses.

Yeah I never understood why people thought Sergio with bad knees would still be too much for Cotto. Cotto is too good of a fighter to go in a fight injured and also Martinez didnt look good against Martin Murray with the bad knees. Still give Cotto props because he was still the smaller fighter moving up, which is a disadvantage in itself.

I have to ask why some of you mfers hate him. Dude has fought everyone, is it because he lost some? Cotto has been one of my favorites since he came on the scene. He had a hell of a fight with some of you guys god Mayweather, went on to win the ***in lineal MW championship of the world. I wont dispute any fight he has lost because he lost them but he never got his ass kicked aside from Paq. he is one of the great fighters of this era, Im astounded he doesnt get the credit.

I guess someone is going to bring up the first Margarito fight and if you do god help you. If you think Marg didnt have his wraps stacked that fight you need to never ***in post here again.

Typical Cotto stan. Wants to 'debate' about Cotto having a better resume than May/Pac (and he doesn't) when we've seen both of them beat his (allegedly) better-resume-having azz.

Seriously, please explain why you think having a better resume is of any significance in a discussion where we've actually seen those guys in the ring together. And your guy is holding those L's.

This is classic 'fan-of-the-loser' logic. This is the equivalent of wanting to argue about strength of schedule and better conference after your favorite college team got its azz beat in a Bowl game.
