Though I think we all know that at this point, it's more likely that Manny took Vargas for the less perceived threat. I'd like to see what he has to say if Crawford does a fight at 147.

      yep ^^

      and good point about Crawford

Hard to believe that he refused to budge on the weight.

      This could just be Arum-speak.

        not exactly.

what arum and pacquiao are doing with selecting vargas is the same reason why despite having all these fighters on his stable, al haymon's best two fights are santa cruz frampton and porter thurman.

arum is trying to stay in business with haymon.

pacquiao vs crawford is bob arum's very own pacquiao vs mayweather = if pacquiao keeps figthing, lets keep dangling the carrot on the stick to fans of a crawford pacquiao fight (similar to floyd manny fighting other guys with the payoff for the fans continuing to support both guys with them finally fighting) by saying keep supporting manny and crawford and they will eventually meet.

people need stop thinking like fans and put themselves in promoters and boxers shoes.

        that's what's happening here.

i mean arum even stated it in the article... they might eventually fight in the future.

this is floyd manny all over again...
this is gamboa juan ma all over again...

        but the logic makes sense.

Looks like crawford wanted to avoid him considering that.
yep, I agree..... but it is hard to believe that Crawford refused to budge on the weight..... Godsfly knows whats up, Crawford is a bad style for Pac, especially at this stage in Pac's career.

I'm not a huge pacfan at all, but I would give Manny a pass on Crawford at this point, besides Vargas isn't the worst opponent he could have picked.

Arum must have been a little slow getting that 4mil offer to Kell Brook LMAO

              of course he can.

just like its utterly ****** that crawford would have a hard stance of not fighting pacqiuao at 147 but only at 140lbs, despite being the physically bigger guy than pacquiao.

NONE OF THIS MAKE SENSE FOR EITHER GUY.

which means its a company line talking point.

he's taller and has a longer reach than pacquiao, certainly has the talent to compete with any welter not named floyd and is better suited and will eventually end up fighting at 147lbs.

this seems like a coordinated company line talking point.

arum saving future fights for fear of economic viability considering his competition with al haymon.

Crawford having this ridiculous nonsensical stance of only fighting pacquiao at 140lbs when he's basically bigger than pacquiao im not buying, at all.

                it doesnt make sense.

it seems like that's the talking point they are putting out there.

crawford having a take it or leave it stance in regards to only fighting pacquiao at 140lbs MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER....

unless of course he really doesnt.

                GOOD post !

young guys got no balls, sad-sad time for boxing....

remember when young manny jump to Featherweight to challenge barerra, then JMM then jump again to face morales in super featherweight in the span of only 16 months??!!

when we gonna see that kind "ATG run" like that again??
