Though I think we all know that at this point, it's more likely that Manny took Vargas for the less perceived threat. I'd like to see what he has to say if Crawford does a fight at 147.

dude........u can believe that load crap if u want. manny was redirected to vargas because of crawfords risk level. (konz & roach already said it) also manny himself said that he's coming back for money because he supports tons people. he wasn't coming back for a risky fighter that could beat him up. in so many words, he eluded to exactly that.......

what arum and pacquiao are doing with selecting vargas is the same reason why despite having all these fighters on his stable, al haymon's best two fights are santa cruz frampton and porter thurman.

arum is trying to stay in business with haymon.

pacquiao vs crawford is bob arum's very own pacquiao vs mayweather = if pacquiao keeps figthing, lets keep dangling the carrot on the stick to fans of a crawford pacquiao fight (similar to floyd manny fighting other guys with the payoff for the fans continuing to support both guys with them finally fighting) by saying keep supporting manny and crawford and they will eventually meet.

Why should manny have to go down for crawford when he is the atg and the bigger draw. The fact is crawford didnt say hed go to 147 so a case could be made that crawford is more to blame by demanding pacquiao go down to 140 when crawford weighs more than pacquiao on fight night. Looks like crawford wanted to avoid him considering that.

yep, I agree..... but it is hard to believe that Crawford refused to budge on the weight..... Godsfly knows whats up, Crawford is a bad style for Pac, especially at this stage in Pac's career.

I'm not a huge pacfan at all, but I would give Manny a pass on Crawford at this point, besides Vargas isn't the worst opponent he could have picked.

the real question for me is why didnt terrence crawford fight manny at 147lbs?

he's taller and has a longer reach than pacquiao, certainly has the talent to compete with any welter not named floyd and is better suited and will eventually end up fighting at 147lbs.

this seems like a coordinated company line talking point.
