That's why hardcore fans need to start demanding runner vs runner, not runner vs come forward. Runners can't run from each other, they'll have to fight. In other words, we need chess matches.

its pretty bad when even sven ottke, who got trashed on forums for years before his retirement and after, has a better resume than GGG....Also Sven ottke fought in a different style, different temperment, and wasnt the most heavy handed guy around but look at his record...his kos came from fighting OVERMATCHED guys...only decent fighter he knocked out was anthony mundine...he did ko joe gatti but his kos came when opposition was weaker.

Like I said level of opposition affects ko %....every great puncher's % dropped once they regularly fought world ranked and elite fighters....GGG doesnt.

How can you say GGG is the most dominant fighter of the past 3 years? look at who he fights...he better be dominant

Chocolatito is exciting, dominant, has a high ko %, difference is, he actually knocks out the best the world has to offer at 112(Viloria, Akira Yaegashi were top 5.... 112 poundsers), whereas GGG is knocking out fighters his own fans have to google....not the same scenario bro...in his last 5 fights chocolatito knocked out several world champions whereas GGG beat Lemieux and no hopers........moving on

rigondeaux, ward, mayweather, wladimir, have all been in wretched fights.

hell, most of wladimir's fights are wretched. do we call him boring only because he's effective? really?

or are you a wayyyycist golovkin hater, the way everybody damn well knows you are ?

So. Erm. Where is this going? Do we need a glossary stickied to help new members. Should the word 'boring ' be banned from NSB? I'd be in favour of banning the words 'ducking' and 'coward', but 'boring'? If the biggest criticism a guy you like gets is that he's 'boring' but yet he keeps pulling out dominant performances I don't see what you've got to complain about. Ever heard of having the last laugh - most Floyd fans should appreciate this.

To each its own, but a "boring" fighter to me is someone who focuses on nullifying rather than fighting. Someone who refuses to engage even when he has an outmatched opponent in front of him. Someone who would rather play it safe and pity pat and jab his way to a safe points decision instead of closing the show especially when he has the skill set and ability to do so.

When I think of this, 2 fighters immediately come to mind. Lara and Rigo.

Does fighting and KOing vastly inferior opponents mitigate excitement in any way?

I agree. I think more of my frustration is when it become so apparent that the opponent is way outskilled by a guy like Rigo, and Rigo is perfectly happy to just walk it home. You're right, the opponent needs to make him work for it, but I'd rather see the Rigo that is breaking jaws more than the one just skating by for 12 rounds.
