Floyd was a goddamn beast at the lighter weights. I never really found "Money" boring, but he just did enough to win. Can't fault him there as he can retire with his head still intact, but he rarely excited me in the later years.
If Wlad didn't get knockouts most of the time he would be unwatchable.
Ward can be boring or he can be very entertaining. It depends on who he fights. Usually he spoils too much for my taste.
Rigo...it really depends on which Rigo shows up. Sometimes he looks like an absolute beast. Other times he acts like he hardly wants to be there and does almost nothing. He is frustrating because he usually takes zero chances against guys he has horribly outgunned.
Crawford isn't boring. People saying that I can't agree with.
Lara has had multiple fights where he just slapped with ZERO power and sprinted around the ring. Those fights are unwatchable.
the opponent should take some responsibity imo...they are in the ring as well.
takes 2 fighters to make an entertaining fightComment

ive told him that several times...he should thoroughly enjoy the horrible technique, lack of defense, and chins made of the finest china money could buyComment

^^^pretty much summed it up...appreciate the fight, fighters, and put responsibility on both fighters not just one when criticizing for excitementTend to agree with this. If someone can't hang with a "boring guy" thats on them too. I mean the sport of boxing is the sport of boxing & the rules don't say that you must excitingly out-punch, out-ring generalship, out-effective aggression, out-defense a guy & all that stuff just you need to do those things, excitingly or boring as f#ck or somewhere in between don't matter, to win rounds via the judges.
If they wanna change the rules to allow for more "fun" fights fair play, but as things are writing no one is saying you gotta make things fun.Comment

the guys who do exactly what I entail started showing their faces.....it takes 2 fighters to make a great fightDidn't realize you found the Rios and Algieri fights so riveting. Nice.
And yeah, Floyd/Canelo sure was a dull fight, wasn't it?
Exactly to both of you. It takes two to tango, two to move. One doesn't show up = boring fight.
Your problem is, you equate effective movement with running. That's not how it works.
What Eric Molina did against Wilder? THAT is running.
What Maidana did against "No Mas" Ortiz just before the quit? THAT is running.
None of the fighters elsewise mentioned in this thread were running - they're just not ****** enough to stand there and take unnecessary shots.
Blame the other guy for not being able to put a stop to that tactic.Comment

no ive seen clips of him but not a full fight, but if he does run and you find that entertaining you should go watch track and field. no,two of my faves are both undefeated and they go out there and put on a show, throwing shots, creating action. although if someone does lose i dont suddenly stop following them, unlike you.Comment

Some people like boxers who are low risk, defensive fighters.
Other guys like offensive fighters who go to war.
So what? Opinions are like ******s, cause everybody's got one.
If I disagree with a guy's opinion of a boxer, I try to appreciate what that guy likes about his fighter and maybe I can learn something.
Why does everybody have to agree that your guy is great?
By the way, boring means dull, tedious, uneventful or mind-numbing.
Sort of like a Mayweather fight. IMO lol
What's hard for people to get is the only fact in boxing is a fighter's won and loss record, everything else is opinion.Last edited by ruedboy; 08-16-2016, 12:17 PM.Comment
