When you've been following boxing for too long, you begin to appreciate chess matches. Thurman vs Porter was an entertaining chess match. Even the Lee vs Quillin put me on the edge of my seat the entire fight. I became a Quillin fan in that fight.

Fights like Broner/Maidana, Pac/Marquez 4 and even slower paced fights like Rigondeaux/Donaire, Mayweather/Canelo etc. are exciting to me because there is intrigue. You are glued to your TV, waiting to see what will happen next.
I tend to agree. If fans like the guy, cool. Thats fine. Just stop saying he is "exciting" when the outcome is pre ordained.

GGG fans are becoming the equivalent of Harlem Globetrotter fans-you are there for the inevitable outcome not the quality of the performers.

But you're right, the typical Floyd stans avoided that thread.
PBP can explain himself but my guess is he was reminding the TS, who is a fan of excitement, that a Berto floyd fight would be more entertaining, and thus better, then Floyd/Lara.

Lets be real-the same guys like the TS, JoeMan and others love it when GGG gets a KO over a no hoper but will make threads and numerous posts when a guy like Errol Spence or Wilder is in a similar mismatch.

The better question is why do the posters that are on record as preferring "excitement" and KO finishes not support all fights that fall into this category?

I appreciate skill but is it entertaining? Its a sport to the spectator first and foremost, people pay money to see them fight. In other words, without the casual fan fighters like Mayweather and Lara wouldnt be as known as they are.

And you can be great and still be exciting, there are so many elite fighters from the past who were defensively blessed but still exciting.
Somebody like Lara can fight their fight, but that doesnt mean the average fan who PAYS MONEY cant say "you know what, im never gonna see that guy fight again because it bore the hell outta me"

Exciting fighters who didnt get hit much in their prime

              All fighters in their prime
              Roy Jones
              Mike Tyson
              James Toney
              Young BHOP
              Manny Pacquiao
              Thomas Hearns
              Sugar Ray Leonard
              Pernell Whitaker
              Young Floyd Mayweather
              Crawford before the postol fight

So you tell me why guys like Lara and Rigondeaux cant be more exciting when greater fighters in the past were 10x more exciting?
The term 'boring' exists, exccessive holding, lack of punching, consistently on the backfoot, running (not moving) all play a role.
Apparently mate. Everyone has to be pigeon holed it appears :ANYWORD:

My list of favorite fighters/fights is a mixture from both sides of this debate..but to label someone a casual because they don't like certain fighters, or because they do like certain styles is daft. Especially when you see who is pointing the 'they're casuals' finger.

                simple

fan boy....." they ducking him, no one will fight him" kos no name

fan boy on a fighter they dont like " he is ducking the best, only knocks out scrubs" kos no name

                its a double standard

they expect more out of fighters they dont like and make excuses for fighters they do like.

I for one like competitive fights period, but a call a spade a spade...it isnt exciting to see any fighter ko a non-descript opponent

the point I brought up in the OP is people who put no responsibility on the opponents who dont adjust and force these"boring" fighters to fight their fight....its the opposing trainers, and fighters fault

takes 2 fighters to entertain so if a fight is boring, both fighters take the blame in my eyes

i like fighters with skills that go for the kill. I'm not a huge fan of brawlers or pure technicians

i enjoyed santa- frampton both displayed good skills and each of them wanted to hurt the other and not just score points.

i think pac-marquez 1 and 2 also display high level boxing with fantastic exchanges

GGG isnt even white, he is asian.....smh....what is it with you fools always bringing up race....and GGG...the thread literally has nothing to do with the guy....just admit you need a "great white hope" in your life so you cling to the guy, instead of accuse others of racist actions..i never brought up race, you did.....do you have an inferiority complex to men of color?

did a black guy screw your wife? Your daughter have kids with a mexican?

                      whats your problem?

get his **** out of your azz and use common sense

when he starts to fight DeGale, Canelo, Jack, Zurda, BJS, etc....top 5 guys at 160-168 the kos wont be as frequent...he hasnt faced that type of opposition yet

                      moving on.....
So GGG has to fight even lesser known fighters to get props? Lmao. Outside of canelo, nobody who is buying ppvs knows who those cats are. Why would they be any different than who he has already beat?

Golovkin is white as snow, and thats what bothers you as hes staking his claim as the greatest middleweight ever.

Why would a Mexican need a great white hope? There are already plenty of Mexican legends. A great white hope does nothing for me when many of my favorite fighters are black.
