I just want a controversy-free winner. That's all I'm asking here. I don't give a **** what happens so long as it's not crooked.

Kovalev's most dominant performance in his past three fights was Pascal II.
I remember Ward REFUSED the VADA testing when it was requested for the Kessler and Abraham fights, and when Rodriguez requested it.

Kovalev had VADA testing for his last fight with Pascal. Will Ward (who worked with Victor Conte) accept VADA testing?
Will Ward fight Kovalev outside of Oakland? It was reported today on boxingscene that the fight may not be in Las Vegas after all.
Will Ward have a referee who is on his side, and permits him to foul (like Jack Reiss did in Ward-Kessler, or Lawrence Cole did for the home boxer in Lomachenko-Salido)?Originally posted by Freedom. If you think it's a smear attempt that must be because you smeared Ward with your initial post.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 08-08-2016, 01:54 PM.

I'm fully behind Ward on this one but I don't dislike Kovalev who is someone I enjoy watching very much, I hope for a good fight without controversy.
I also think people like the OP will not give credit to Ward no matter what happens because in his mind it is not a fair fight if Ward wins. If there are lets say 15 clinches in the whole fight (which is a perfectly normal number).... they will point to that and exaggerate its significance on the outcome. It's what I expect, I can't recall Ward being reckless with his head other than the Kessler fight but it gets played out like he is dirty in every fight. If all else fails then resort to the "He ran, he didn't stand and fight like a man" line of defence.
