I saw the fastest jabs of all time in his fight with Vinny Pazienza

I saw Vinny Pazienza almost out on his feet without the referee stopping the thing which caused Roy to just simply shrug his shoulders and deliver the most perfect six-punch combination I have ever seen thrown to finish it there and then

I saw him stop Virgil Hill with a body shot that sounded like a ******* going off

I saw a man who had been tortured by his father his whole childhood in the Thomas Tate and Montell Griffin II fights and it was scarey

I saw him knockout some guy with a counter punch that started with his hands behind his back

I saw a man who had started his career a 154 become the heavyweight champion of the world for goodness sake

In his prime he was one of the best ever. Funny thing is when you think how he would rate if he retired after the first Tarver fight, which was close I admit, but I think he deserved to win. He would have been essentially undefeated since we all know the disqualification vs. griffin was just a mistake by an overeager fighter. hen he revenged the "defeat" in a vicious 1st round ktfo a few months later. Anyway, my point is if he had retired after the first Tarver fight it wouldn't be so hard for people to accept him as a top 10-15 p4p fighter ever. But after his last 3 fights people struggle to place him in the top 30-40. Just an interesting way to look at it.
