I don't know, that hula hoop into the uppercut he threw was pretty sweet. Someone should make a gif of him hula hooping.Comment

When a fighter gives no reason for the Haters to hate, the "his defense is horrible" and "his footwork" isn't up to par. Wilder has speed, power, and uses his jab beautifully to keep his distance and set up his right hand bombs. I get that outside of Stiverne he hasn't fought anyone worth anything. Of course he isn't as polished as most champs; he never put on a pair of boxing gloves until he was 19. And he had a very short amateur career. But Lennox Lewis appeared to have the same horrible defense and was always off-balance when McCall ko'd him and it didn't improve any by the time he got knocked unconscious by Rahman. Wlad had the same problem of bad footwork and suspect defense and the same things were said about him when he got rocked and ko'd by Sanders. And both Lewis and Wlad had hundreds more fights than Wilder and over a decade of experience.
The low point in the HW division had to be when a Wilder but half the size was viewed as an unstoppable force for handing a beating to opponents not much, if any, better than Wilders. Tyson is a legend though. Even though he NEVER could beat any top "boxer". Vitali made Lewis retire. Wlad was undefeated for over a decade. Fury just beat Wlad and is undefeated. Joshua looks amazing and Parker also has real potential. Lewis was just so much bigger that he could keep his distance from everyone else. Now there are 3 HWs who, like Lewis, use their jab to keep their reach advantage. However Haters are gonna hate.Comment

after the arreola fight I'm convinced wilder is terrible....just terrible. I was always on the fence about him and thought his power was his great equaliser but with an injured right it's clear his left can't do anything.
His jab isn't as good as he believes it is, his left hook is non existent and his footwork/coordination is beginner level at best. Even with his right hand at 200%, absolutely unbreakable, he can't beat AJ and most definitely not Fury.Comment

That's pretty much where I'm at. He's proven time and again how lacking he is and isn't getting any better. I was so willing for him to carry on improving after the Stiverne fight but each time out he has showed that he has not learned anything.
It's a sad loss cos the guy has the personality to be marketable but seriously lacks any in ring credibility.Comment

That's true. The charisma is there. I would say he needs the right opponent to make him step up his game, but at this rate, the right opponent is only going to expose him.Comment
