    Cotto exposed Canelo

Canelo defeated Cotto in a competive fight that some considered a draw and some even a robbery. I did consider Canelo the close but clear winner, 7-5. The thing is, though, Cotto was not supposed to have given Canelo this much trouble.

1: Cotto was 35 years old, the guy was done.
2: Cotto was much smaller and lighter than Canelo, not even being a true middleweight.
3: Cotto had done nothing for years, except losing to Trout and beating an old onelegged Martinez.

This fight was actually one of the few cases where I got the prediction wrong. I overrated Canelo. I thought he would be good enough to KO a small old man like Cotto. I mean, even little Pacquiao could do that. Instead, Canelo struggled and only won due to his size advantage. I was shocked. This fight showed me that Canelo is an extremely limited boxer.

Am I the only one feels that this win meant nothing for Canelo's legacy?

Any good boxer schools Canelo. He has lost everytime he fought a skilled technician. Mayweather, Lara and Trout.

Prime Cotto would have murdered Canelo. Remember how prime Cotto troubled even Mayweather?

Cotto has never been an easy fighter to stop, one had to completely disregard what was coming their way because they had an ATG chin, Margraito or be a speed demon who can attack from multiple angles Pacquiao. Canelo is more calculated in his attack, more patient and the only way he was ever gonna get Cotto out of there was by landing a big shot, that in itself isn't easy to do against Cotto. Also, Cotto didn't expose anything we haven't already seen.

What are you talking about, i bet 200 Cotto would beat Canelo but it was clearly 9-3 for Canelo, Cotto was landing soft punches and running away and Canelo was more accurate

Canelo is really good, but not great.mlucky for him he is in an era devoid of stars and other great fighters. His talent isn't good enough to beat great fighters but is good enough to beat everyone else.. I think the main difference in the cotto fight was that cotto couldn't hurt canelo. Cotto was outboxing him and landing nice shots, but really had no effect on canelo, and when canelo landed, they did have an effect on cotto.

No I don't because Floyd didn't fight prime Miguel Cotto.
