Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Coach Fears That Saunders Will Outbox, Beat Canelo

Last week, there were widespread industry rumors that WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders (23-0, 12KOs) was going to return as part of the HBO Pay-Per-View undercard to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Liam Smith. The card takes place on September 17th.

"Actions speak louder than words. Triple G will fight a 147-pound guy, but wouldn't fight me, who's 6 pounds away," stated jr. middleweight champion Erislandy Lara, who reacted to the breaking news that unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will defend his titles against IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.

Lara, who has made it clear on several occasions that he's more than willing to step up and face the hard-hitting Golovkin, was unimpressed with the fight announcement. "As far as I'm concerned, Canelo and Triple G are twin brothers," Lara explained during a brief conversation with FightHype.com. He added, "Typical business first and not old school throwback fighters."

The only way to win by points against Canelo is to have him in fight you in your own backyard.

Lara has no fanbase, that is why he is not getting any fights plus the last time you was given an opportunity he blew it against Canelo, by running

Because they're hypocrites. They want to portray Floyd, Cotto, and Canelo as "business man" but portray themselves as "gladiators." They want Canelo to win because they want that money! They chose Brook over Lara because they want that money! If they never talked that "business man" and "154-168" BS, no one would be criticizing GGG vs. Brook!

                  A few things here.

1.) Canelo will be just fine against this so called box and move fighter named Saunders. He has shown the ability to adapt in the fight and change the game plan to something in his favor as he did in the Lara fight when he had to crawl back into the fight after round 6 like he did.

2.) If Saunders somehow beats Canelo handedly then we can say well, then he really wasn't that good anyways and GGG can shift his focus on the better fighter at the point, which would be Saunders if this is the case.

3.) Canelo would need to bounce back hard with a loss to Saunders and that would more than likely make him more willing to fight GGG and more than likely easier to budge in terms of fight.

So, no matter what happens GGG loses nothing. And can only gain from any of the likely outcomes.

With that being said, Canelo will beat Saunders ass. Gimme a ****ing break. Boxing the is the land of fantasy where fighters are given too much credit for things that have not neither shown or accomplished.

Canelo will only beat Saunders by robbery. He certainly won't KO him. He couldn't even drop Cotto.
