Would Canelo vs Brook be a mismatch in your opinion?

I'm probably going to catch a lot of flack for this, but I've said in the past that I think Brook would beat Canelo.

If Canelo hypothetically fought Brook, would it be a ridiculous mismatch in your opinion?

Both have fought at 147 and above. Canelo has fought at 155 thrice I believe, Brook once or twice.

Both have faced Matthew Hatton as the only common opponent.

Hatton said Brook hit harder and had better skills - But he only fought a green and young Canelo.

... I'd only want to underline one thing I have noticed in Brooks game: he doesn't move his body or his head in before he gets hit -- hence he is there to be dispatched by bigger guys...

No, Brook was talking about moving to 154 soon, Hell why didn't team Brook when after Canelo first then GGG?

Would seem to be a sensible move. They were going for Cotto.

I think Canelo probably wanted a belt at 154 and Brook was supposed to unify at 147, so I guess it was never in play.

I think he's showed good reflexes. He rolls well, ducks with punches + can slip and slide.

He very rarely gets hit clean.

Of course, none of these fights were against GGG.

Purely based on the fact that Kell is a welterweight champion, moving up to face a JMW is entirely reasonable. It's no mismatch in that regard.
In terms of the actual battle, Kell is not ready. He gave everything he had to fend off Porter. Canelo is not a sloppy bumrusher. He's far more precise, patient, in addition to being quicker, smarter, and more powerful. I believe he'd likely finish, if not decision Brook right now. However, if Brook went up the right way he might give Canelo a competitive match. It's silly to think Brook beats Canelo based off his Porter win.

As you say, Porter and Canelo are two entirely different fighters and styles. Canelo is much less physical than Porter in the ring.

The fact that Canelo is more of a boxer could play into Brook's hands. Give him more clean work to counter so to speak.

Canelo has slightly better power, Brook has the slightly better skills imo. I feel it would be a pretty even match-up. They are about the same size as well in stature.

I'm bringing this up to bring a new light to the GGG vs Canelo debate.

That must be 10 years ago now! I think Brook has improved a bit since then.

... not dramatically: I've watched recent vids also... Brook clinched Porter to submission, for example...
