I would start with more than Lemieux, because Jacobs is a New York fighter, has been on the scene for a long time (previous ESPN prospect of the year), and a guy who has an interesting back story. IF played right it could do something like 300k. Not to mention Golovkin should be bigger now than he was then. 300k makes it a $20 million revenue fight.

To get that figure they would have to actually set it up though, if they just throw it together haphazardly like the Lemieux fight then cut it in half. Which would be the case if they just do it next.
I agree Jacobs is marketable in principle, problem is that he's been marketed horribly so his numbers are shocking. If he's gonna be built up as a credible Ggg opponent, that's all on him. So fighting Mora doesn't help, neither does sounding defeated already.

I'm sure he was offered some ppv upside with the 1.5m guarantee, just like Lemieux. Lemieux barely broke even so no upside. If Jacobs does that much better, there a healthy upside for him, though nowhere near a ridiculous 5m

Like I said if I am Jacobs I want more than Lemieux because I think he has more going for him than Lemieux did.

Now that is not to say Jacobs can just sit there and demand a ton more he needs to make some things happen for himself, fighting Mora is not a great option because he is not highly regarded and he is a difficult guy to look good against. IF Jacobs is going to fight a lesser (or slightly lesser in the case of Mora because he is not a terrible fighter just terrible to watch) he needs to kill it and Mora is not going to make that easy.

I think Golovkin and his team learned a hard lesson from the Lemieux fight anyway and they won't rush into a fight that should be built a bit first. Jacobs is not a huge name but he is one of the few guys at middle that could bring something to the table. Not that it needs a ton of time just either just an interim fight with both guys talking about the other getting the fans really talking about that fight.

The thing that sucks for Jacobs is that there are not many guys he can fight at 160 that will do much for him, hell maybe he should do what people want Golovkin to do and fight Lara. It would at least give him a talking point and another quality win.

I mostly agree, though Lemieux had something that Ggg wanted, the IBF belt. He got a damn good split for what he brings, and I'm sure Ggg wouldn't be taking a much bigger guarantee for Jacobs despite bringing the 3 belts. If there's much more interest in this fight, it'll show in ppv upside

This is truly hilarious and embarrassing at the same time
I never said I care about his health I said what's the point in having him move up to MW?
I asked you if you thought Alfredo Angulo was better than GGG and of course you failed to answer the question

Because he wants to move up and fight GGG at 160.

I failed to answer because your question is rudimentary. Sorry but triangular theories aren't in my vocabulary.

I don't think Lara can beat GGG and it's not because of how he looked against Angulo. But just because some guy on boxingscene named Chollo Vista doesn't think Lara can beat GGG doesn't mean it shouldn't happen. Unless we're back to talking about "bizness" that is.

I don't really see the purpose of this thread and similar ones other than piss people off. Everyone knew Jacobs had already made a bidzness decision. He wants to rematch Mora. End of story.

It's not even hard to see sincerity when it comes to going after the fight you claim you want. You simply talk to the people involved; take advantage of Haymon's negotiating skills, get involved in crunching the numbers, see if you can come up with the best possible deal.

Crying and complaining on twitter and forums without doing anything won't cut the mustard. It's childish.

GGG is the only one around here that's allowed to make "bidness" decisions around here; that seems to be the status quo

Which is quite ironic considering the fact that 99.8% of GGG's fans attacked the businessman, Floyd Mayweather. Now that GGG is making more business decisions than Floyd, they're all for it.

Imagine Floyd telling Oscar no to the 70-30 split, gloves and ring size. Imagine that.

But GGG can be as much of a bidness man as he wants and it's ok.

I know who you all are. I find it mighty hypocritical of you guys to attack Jacobs trainer for asking for 4-5 mil to fight GGG, but defended Pacquiao for years when he refused random blood and his biggest purse of the time which was 40 mil.

That's right, Floyd offered Manny 40 mil to fight Floyd, Manny refused and you same guys comforted Manny while calling Floyd the ducker. Now that Jacobs is simply asking for 4-5 mil, now he's the ducker.

You replace Daniel Jacobs with someone who's lighter complected and a different name and you same guys would be here defending his honor like you did from 09-15.

Why such a dichotomy in expectations for one fighter and disdain for the other?

you know you done ****ed up right?

you just aired out about 40% of the forum......disgruntled former pac fans, and Floyd mayweather haters who jumped ship to GGG
