By a show of hands, who defended Pac refusing random tests/40 mil, but attack Jacobs?

Problem is imbeciles like the thread starter and the other Haymon groupies are doing the same thing: They attacked Pac for refusing to fight when asked to take drug tests but yet are grasping at straws and making every excuse possible for Jacobs pricing himself out. Its laughable. It is simple people give passes or the very least the benefit of the doubt to fighters they support. While fighters they do not like get the opposite treatment. Not generally a major problem with this because usually there are at least 2 sides to a story so both sides have a point. Some of the best can be analytical and objective toward both sides but even in these cases, no one can do it even close to 100% of the time because they will make a good point that goes toward one side and be forced to defend that point then pride takes over.
The problems really comes in as to why people end up on one side or the other, but that is always how it has been since I have been here.
For the record, I did not defend Pac for initially refusing to take drug tests. Very su****ious.Comment

Great post. Im truly shocked by how delusional people are when it comes to what boxers should be paid.MY POINT IS THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU LACE UP GLOVES.
YOU'RE NOT ENTITLED TO MILLION DOLLAR PAY CHECKS.
Especially if you're not selling. If you're not taking risks, against those equally as good as you, you shouldn't claim absurd paychecks or ask for certain things.
It's only in this forum that I keep reading, wow this AVERAGE boxer deserves millions for his family since his health is on the line?
Are you kidding me?
There are normal civilian jobs that expose you to death at higher rates than boxing.
So a bunch of average boxers asking for 3 million and such just makes me roll my eyes.
I work in finance as I've said, and I know traders who are do and die everyday to make serious cash. One blow up--they're on suicide watch for the most part. That's some serious trauma, not fighting freaking Mora trauma as he probably doesn't even apply boxing technicals at high levels of thought(game theory) whatsoever beyond a high school level of thinking.
If you don't perform in some Dragon Ball Z type fights-- you shouldn't get paid.
Just because you're a boxer-- you're not ruled out of realistic economics.
Not that hard to grasp.
Jacobs priced himself out, so no matter the points of Golovkin not paying, this or that. Jacobs doesn't even really truly deserve a shot at Golovkin IMHO.
Maybe in this soft era, it's a decent fight--but for the most part, I don't see anything great.
If you made it as a crossover status-- you deserved every bit of it for the amount of risks, skills, control and salesmanship skill you obtain in a career.Comment

When the HBO team announced that unlike the majority of his Russian Comrades, Dmitry Pirog was essentially a black fighter by style and influence of Ray Leonard, was it racist if I was rooting for him to win because I preferred his technique over the color of Jacobs skin?Comment

It is a two way street, I didn't say otherwise.Problem is imbeciles like the thread starter and the other Haymon groupies are doing the same thing: They attacked Pac for refusing to fight when asked to take drug tests but yet are grasping at straws and making every excuse possible for Jacobs pricing himself out. It is why it is a never ending downward spiral because people will always try to get back at others for their past words and past hurt feelings~Last edited by The Gambler1981; 07-02-2016, 12:45 PM.Comment

This thread is hilarious. Let's start with the question of how much money a ggg vs jacobs fight would generate and go from there.Comment

No matter how much you present this fact to the detractors it makes no difference. They are just desperately trying to make it look like its Golovkin that's preventing this fight.
But what the thread starter doesn't realize is that making this thread is more or less an admission that Jacobs doesn't want the fight.Comment

How much is Golovkin_Jacobs worth.
I would start with more than Lemieux, because Jacobs is a New York fighter, has been on the scene for a long time (previous ESPN prospect of the year), and a guy who has an interesting back story. IF played right it could do something like 300k. Not to mention Golovkin should be bigger now than he was then. 300k makes it a $20 million revenue fight.
To get that figure they would have to actually set it up though, if they just throw it together haphazardly like the Lemieux fight then cut it in half. Which would be the case if they just do it next.Comment
