How exactly is it 'smart' to look at Golovkin and think, hmm I have a good chance of getting my ass handed to me here?

Boxing has been like that for years, nothing is going to change. Martinez never got his chance until he moved up, Vernon Forrest (RIP) that accused others of ducking him wasn't too keen to fight Martinez (Didn't bring much to the table), he was looking to fight Oscar and another Mosley fight etc. Martinez too wasn't too keen on GGG and to be honest we now know he was a cripple looking for his retirement fund, and GGG would be the same... In fact he already showed us he is the same as all of these boxers.

Team Golovkin at one point said that Andre Ward didn't make financial sense. They all do it, they are all businessmen.

It's not smart because no one like Canelo but his Shawdow

Canelo won't ever be able to draw like Floyd was. He won't ever live this down.

And I think it says a lot about his skill. He didn't just duck GGG, he then chose the weakest of the 154 pound champions.

          ****ing lame.

Sure, I understand he wanted a "money fight", but he just had a money fight in Chavez jr and a "gimmie" fight in Argentina against Murray (which obviously turned out to be a very tough fight for Sergio and lucky it was at home).

My point is - if Sergio didn't lose to Cotto the cluster**** that followed would never have happened. When Sergio vs Cotto was announced I preached nonstop how important it was Sergio wins or else we would end up with welterweights fighting for the lineal middleweight crown, which is exactly what happened.
After Chavez Jr Sergio had two surgeries on the knees and was a shadow of himself. He was avoided in his prime and he just took some money fights before he retired.
There are articles that comment back in 2011 that he couldn't run sometimes and had to avoid running because his hips and knees were not ok.
He's not as bad as you think.

            2011 article: http://www.fightingfitmagazine.com/t...?ArticleID=106

Session 1: Waking at 4 a.m. and running five miles or biking on steep hills for an hour begins the first of four sessions of training. If his knees and hips feel good, then Martinez will run sprints in intervals at the local high school. The distance varies but an hour is spent running as fast as possible.
Also, this article posted in boxingscene is biased as ****. Sergio had already said that GGG was better than canelo and that they would duck him until he was old. http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=698002

That's a point certain folks overlook. Every fight can be your last fight. I never blame a guy for trying to maximize his purse size. As long as they don't talk ish like some have, recently Alvarez, and then make a business decision afterwards. Most of these guys mean it when they say they are willing to fight. I just feel all talk must be backed by actions.

That's why no one can say ***** about another boxer. They all do this ***** all the time, Margarito refuse to fight Mosley unless he gets more money, this was after all the "he would fight anyone and the most feared" GGG was making a business decision when it came to Ward, Just like Martinez did when it came to GGG and making his final payday against Cotto. They all do it, so if one is a **** then they are all ****s.
