Why can't Team GGG pay Jacobs the 4-5 mil he asks for? Khan made 13 mil vs Canelo

4 to 5 is a bit rich for Jacobs, I could see 2 or perhaps 3 (which is really pushing Jacobs worth) if they really wanted to make it happen but 4 or 5 is about twice what Jacobs is worth and if he wants that amount it is on him to raise his profile, which is difficult at 160 because beating cats Golovkin already beat is not getting Jacobs there.

He would need 2 pretty big fights and great performances in those fights to be getting that kind of bread. 2 pretty big fights for Jacobs considering the landscape at 160 and Jacobs own issues with activity that could take like 5 or 6 years.

Still Jacobs has his worth which is right about at 2 for the fight and considering both guys have been active in new York that fight is solid business there so there is money in the fight.

No different than Andre Ward, Golovkin could take a little bit less money to make fights. If the budget is $2m/$500k, what's the problem with Golovkin taking $1.8m to loosen up the money to offer more for better opponents. Heck, with Roman Gonzalez seemingly on the verge of getting his own show, some of that undercard money can be leveraged to make a better offer for opponents.

The fact that K2 seems to think that they don't have to be flexible to do business is silly.

I thought the reason why Jacobs is demanding this kind of money is because of the risk involved. Yet it doesn't apply to GG. He's asked to accept less money in a Ward fight. Man this GG guy should retire and disappear. They really don't like him. Nah.

K2 made Danny the same offer they made Lemieux, he said no. If I'm Loeffler I call the WBA to go ahead a call a purse bid, Jacobs can take 25% of who ever wins the bid.

If this whole post is about the money Khan made then you are so wrong. Khan made 2 mil from the purse and Canelo made 3.5 mil

The only reason this 13 mil number has come up is because of the Box Nation PPVS. Khan is a superstar there and thats why that number is even there.

The real pay for Khan was 2 million and he was in big fights. Even his fights with Judah, Barrera, Malignaggi and Garcia were big. He's been around for a while and deserved that.

Jacobs doesn't deserve 5 mil for a fake paper belt. He has no real win other than the Quillin fight which he wasn't fought after.

Jacobs deserves 1.5 mil max stop playing, Tom shouldn't overpay for a Hayman dummy.

The WBA has always been like that, back when N'Dam was interim champ, Golovkin pushed for the fight, the WBA called the purse bid and N'Dam vacated.

We're reaching the point where Jacobs' unwillingness to fight Golovkin or any other top MW is clogging things up. Time to force him to do something.

HBO buys fights, and the two sides negotiate terms [IE how much money each gets.] there are other streams of revenue for these fights, but the TV money and the gate are the big ones.


canelo and khan was on ppv, where the fighters agree to a garantee and a split of the TV and gate revenue. in khan's case he also brought UK tv money.



why would danny jacobs deserve several times what golovkin has made in his biggest payday?

if you look at jacobs' TV numbers they are flat out bad. he did less than 400K average in the biggest fight of his career.



these guys are pricint themselves high becuase they don't want the fight, not because they're holding out for what they think they're worth.

these guys are doing math. risk = reward.

That info is already posted here. That fight sold 20000 seats with an average of 80 usd.
It sold 100-150k PPV depending on the source.

Plus what it generated with worldwide ratings. I watched it in Cable TV in Argentina. I also watched in Cable TV Jacobs Quillin.
