I thought the reason why Jacobs is demanding this kind of money is because of the risk involved. Yet it doesn't apply to GG. He's asked to accept less money in a Ward fight. Man this GG guy should retire and disappear. They really don't like him. Nah.

The Ward offer, if I remember correctly, was for a 50/50 split of the take at 168lbs, so not sure what you're talking about. Beyond that, no one is saying that Golovkin should have to fight for free; rather than making $2m to fight, Golovkin would now make $1.8m, with some money taken from the undercard to free up $700k-$750k to chase down a better opponent.

The one hang up though (you could say fear), is that K2 could take a bath on the fight, Golovkin could get his ears boxed off, and they'd be left with a 35 year old career middleweight fighter who'd be two fights away (risking another potential loss) from getting into position to maybe be called for another title shot.

It sold 100-150k PPV depending on the source.

Plus what it generated with worldwide ratings. I watched it in Cable TV in Argentina. I also watched in Cable TV Jacobs Quillin.

So, according to your own numbers, Golovkin did $1.6m at the live gate and cleared somewhere between $2.5m-$3.8m (for the promoters/fighters to split up).

And nice try with the "worldwide ratings" nonsense; the main event came on 3am in London, 4am in Germany, and 5am in Russia (for a fight where no one in those markets likely knew who the **** David Lemieux was).

You watch the fight in Argentina; for ****s and giggles, what did the audience number for Golovkin-Lemieux actually look like, lol.
