I don't think you can fairly criticize GGG vs. Eubank. Golovkin is continuing his campaign at 160- so all catch weight talk is to the side.
Eubank has a big name and seems to want the fight. Saunders and Jacobs are completely MIA. Canelo is walking away from what the fans were calling for and moving back to a real weight class- just not the right one.
Quillin would be tough to negotiate and even if they made it- everyone would point to his loss to Jacobs (even though he would be a good fight for GGG).
There are some other guys floating around, and I admit I think this is probably too much too soon for Eubank Jr- but boxing is also sink or swim. If he wants it and feels ready- he is young and strong and is probably a trickier (if not tougher) opponent than Lemieux was in some ways.
I'd watch this before Canelo vs. Liam Smith, but obviously this isn't the right fight. I'm disappointed Canelo isn't going to start fighting at 160.
