Sure, Ward's bigger. But stronger? I don't think so if they're anywhere close to each other weight-wise on fight night. Golovkin hits harder and has great timing. Varies his punches very well. Ward likes to work an inside out game jabbing to the body to upset his opponent's rhythm and then moving inside. Though against Barrera he seemed to stay in the pocket a bit more. Golovkin is better than either Froch of Kessler ever were at using his footwork to manage distance. He has a more varied attack than Kessler and is a much more polished boxer than Froch. His chin seems quite good and he can play defense when he wants to. Of course Ward's defense is better, it's what his style is predicated on. Just as Ward doesn't have GGG's offensive abilities. Barring a KO, the person who controls distance in this fight wins it. Can Ward work outside in without GGG connecting too much when Ward rushes in. I think Golovkin (and Kovalev for that matter) tags him. A lot. And if Ward gets inside consistently to make it a wrestling match is GGG really that vulnerable to his inside game? I'd love to see it.

Now, if Ward's got a 10lb weight advantage and the ref allows a head-butting, mug-fest like he did against Kessler, then GGG's in for a war. But if you think Ward doesn't get touched by GGG, you're dreaming.

Ward can fight inside, on the pivot, and outside...GGG is straight up and down and vs someone like ward those guys get exposed...seen it a million times...overhyped puncher gets undressed vs a less popular supposedly feather fisted coward

casuals man...they dont really follow the sport....9/10 the better boxer wins barring a KO.....boxing is simple....hit and not get it...GGG is not willie pep defensively and Ward doesnt punch like him

I got a laundry list of hyped punchers getting undressed by better technical fighter

all these punchers were great but the media went too far hyping them making great fighters a bit overrated....its a style preference thing.

If they're anywhere close in weight Golovkin's punches will do more damage. You feel GGG is an overhyped puncher, I see something more. I see a boxer who's technically superior to either Kessler or Froch, Ward's 2 best wins. I think most people who know boxing would agree.

he has over 30 fights and only 3 vs current or former title holders...only a Lemiuex was in his prime, Ouma was washed up, and Geale was slightly past it but he was no world beater to begin with....yet this guy is supposed to be top 3 p4p. GTFO....Its fighters in their 20s that have taken more risks than this guy. Guys who get trashed like DSG, even khan took more risks than this guy and been in with better fighter

He hasn't beaten an elite fighter yet. Though, he was perfectly willing to fight the only elite fighter Ward beat and Ward's best win, Froch. And go to his hometown no less and face him at a weight disadvantage.

I don't have any problems with people not rating GGG P4P at this point. I do think people who believe he's just an overhyped puncher either have an anti-GGG agenda or severe vision problems.
