It's not fair but when you're a special fighter more is expected from you.....

golovkin's not goign to move to 168. same money, tougher fights, no chance of getting canelo. alvarez - golovkin is the biggest fight in boxing right now. they are not going to move to 168 and leave it behind. i know youguys don't understand this stuff, as you're not signing for a check for a million dollars in the locker room after you fight
, but they box for money. they're not goign to move to 168 lbs and leave the canelo fight. golovkin's fights are actually being promoted right now by all of the golovkin - alvarez chatter. that goes away if yo move to 168, too. you might even start to earn less money on HBO, and you stand no chance on getting on PPV in america against groves, jack, zurdo, etc.

no smart businessman would do that. in a year he'd be getting demands, from people who just want to see him lose, to fight kovalev, ward, or beterbiev.

But, this underscores a point I have been making.

There is a huge difference between who Gennady thinks he is and who he actually is.

If you are truly a star, opponents can ask for and get that kind of money.

Lil g clearly isn't there yet; but you wouldn't know it by the way they act.

That's why I don't blame Saunders for asking for that much- and I believe that if they fight in the UK, purse figures better than what lil g and Lemieux got are quite possible.

It makes me wonder because i have always looked at this guy coming across as humble and down to earth, Glolovkin i mean.

On the other hand we had a clown that destroyed boxing and in a classless motion thru money in the air. Strange....

how about you focus on the guys making a mockery of the lineal championship? or the slew of contenders who have ducked golovkin? you instead focus on the matchmaking of the most avoided fighter in boxing. it's somehow golovkin's fault that he's such a great threat that canelo alvarez created a new weight class, and is now going to fight liam f#cking smith at 154

but yeah, "why GGG fighting a prospect doe?"
GGG could have made the Ward fight.

He could have made the Canelo fight....

Hopkins is taller than GGG,yet he was able to make Oscar's catchweight because he wanted that fight.

Why couldn't GGG do the same and make the Canelo fight?..No balls or desire to take a risk.

He is the B side just like Hopkins.

          Eubank is terrible.

Lara is begging to fight that old dude.
I respect Lara's courage, I just don't see how he wins against GGG. I feel like at some point during the fight (mid rounds) GGG will catch Lara as he slows.

Strange is pretending to know GGG, like you're his mistress.

Exactly. And dude isn't getting younger.

Forget guys from other weights for a second, even if it was lil g that started all the 154 to 168 talk in the first place.

Saunders and Jacobs are huge fights right there in his own division.

All they have to do is make the fights and be fair with the money.

                But they wont.

They are being the same diva-types they accuse Canelo of being.

You telling me GGG-Saunders doesn't do well in Britain as a PPV?

You telling me you can't put a good card under Jacobs/GGG and do very decent numbers from The Barclay Center in Brooklyn?

The money is there if they want to be fair.

if you really think the bold you have no business talking about boxing. this will be his 7th top 10 contender since he came to america. you genuinely have no idea what a prospect is.

canelo's team won't even negotiate with golovkin. they dropped a belt to avoid having to negotiate. now they've got a "verbal agreement" to fight when golovkin is 35 years old. they didn't say "155 or no fight," like they had in the past. they simply said, "take the belt. no fight."

yet it's golovkin's fault that the dudde with the middleweight championship fo tehw orld wants to make him fight at 155 lbs

                  now, onto ward:
i think there was an opportunity for that fight to happen, however fleeting the opportunity was. i'd have to go back through the timeline. i don't know if ward could have made 164, and i actually doubt it, but it does appear that the fight was conceivable for a period of time, given the independence of their promotors, both fighters' ties to HBO.

that's what you call "objectivity." you clearly don't have it

keep blaming golovkin for being ducked by three lineal champions in a row. this alvarez embarassment withthe MW championship has never happened in boxing. and you're amking excuses for it and loving it because you're a *****

Heres the bottom line....Canelo refuses the match!! Gives up the belt too!

You can "speculate" all you want who is the B-side and all the other he said she said the bottom line is no one here knows for sure what happened in negotiations from the past. The FACTS right now are that Canelo or his management or both don't want GGG right now!

Accept the facts that are in front of you and speculate the other crap but fans don't know sh*! about the business they know weights, height and belly fat! They wouldn't know a left hook from a fishing hook!
