They took away Friday Night Fights just to give us that?
It's basically the same thing except Fnf comes regularly and is viable all around

PBC also took showtime ratings into the dumpster that's the collateral damage that is not talked about enough. Showtime lost like half their boxing viewership over night because of PBC. And it hasn't made a single fighter more popular. Guys coming back to showtime after fighting on PBC drawing half the tv viewers they had before PBC. This was either a poorly executed plan that resulted in a historic level of mismanagement of money or it was a ponzi like scheme to steal money from sucker investors.

        Exactly. Way too much randomness.

They should have studied the way boxing on free tv was done in the '80s and '90s.

They jumped in way too fast and tried to corner the sport. They bought all this airtime all over the place. They should have hired one channel like cbs for big cards, and have spike or espn as lower tier.

They also put no revenue into advertisement exposure. They could have stretched that money out and give it a much better chance. Now everyone is suffering. This new Arum + Haymon friendship is out of dual necessity. As soon as one gains the upper hand it will fall apart again.

            Yep.

And I suspect Arum might be trying to freeze Golden Boy out so that they go out of business.

ESPN is there Sunday Night Heat.
And BounceTV is their ******* Saturday Night (shout out to the people who remember that, lol.)
FOX is there Saturday Night Main Events since they don't have it often.

Difference is, Vince McMahon built his product up into a hot commodity with a large and loyal fanbase before he started branching out with all those different shows on different networks. Just like Zuffa did with the UFC.

People will not watch boxing for the sake of boxing.

We know he has. He's taking away generous percentages of his fighters overinflated purses and didn't invest a single penny into the PBC project.

I would not doubt it. I personally believe this sport will be dead in North America in another 10 years. People have lost interest. Fighters fight too infrequently to build real momentum. Managers and promoters only want to protect what they have left.

That's probably why it took time for Thurman to sign up for the fight considering he got a total of $2.7 million from the Collazo fight, which he himself admitted to Fat Dan.

                    Good point. They need consistency.

Boxing is probably the most inconsistent sport on planet earth.

                      Making fights is a headache,
it isn't styled to support tournaments in a sense like most sports
                      add the ducking

that's not to mention prime tv expects you to fill a good schedule in and out throughout the year.

Haymon's PBC is so disorganized, it isn't viable.
It never was--with the cards stacked all over the place, different times and different channels.
All while competing with huge television draws most times.

If it isn't PPV worthy, boxing for casual fans really isn't so much there.
