It has something to do with having a bigger fanbase and more people knowing who you are.

    Now cry some more
    Was Adama a big name?

    How about Wade?

Lara has Golum on the run.

You are actually so fu(king dumb. Obviously, and I do mean obviously I meant that if GGG moved up to 168 that all of those men would beat him. That is a statement about his level as a fighter.

Martinez was a great fighter. Pirog had potential(He did ghost that other"great" fighter Jacobs on your list),. Cotto and Canelo aren't MW's and it's actually hilarious to see a GGG groupie try and say they are now after like a year of "they aren't real MWs durr"

There is GGG and There is Saunders.....That is all....
You are missing the point here, which is that Golovkin is not a big MW and makes 160 easily, yet there is nobody at 168 he would not have at least a 50/50 chance of beating.

To be honest NEITHER are hugely popular, in either the US or Worldwide.

The main reason is probably due to a lack of real quality promotion in the US combined with (IMO) weak matchmaking.

Eubank Jnr probably talks too much BS, and GGG not enough...

Kovalev only has 30k followers on Twitter lol.
Basically, Wade and Adama are on the same level of stardom as Kovalev!
I talk to casuals about boxing and none of them even know who either Ward or Kovalev are although mind you the same said for Wade and Adama but when you ask them about Golovkin...
Different story they know who that man is its the guy who Kessler, Carl Froch and many more big professional boxers have bigged up he's the one being lined up with the biggest names in boxing, he's the one who made the biggest PPV name in boxing cower then drop his world title at the sheer thought of having to fight this guy!

So yes, GGG and Eubank Jr will be a bigger fight to happen and IF it happens in England by god It will absolutely shiet all over this pathetic Ward Vs. Kovalev fight that should have happened already by now but hasn't because Ward is a coward.

            Can't spell coward without Ward.

That depends how you define hugely popular. Golovkin has plenty of fans worldwide, but not in countries where fans pay a lot of money to watch live fights.

In the US, he sells out big venues on either coast, but only got modest numbers for his PPV (150k, not 97k)

I think K2 have everything they could to raise his profile in the US - compare GGG's profile to Kovalev's and you will see what I mean. But the only opponent they could possibly have matched him with to make the breakthrough on HBO PPV was Canelo, and Canelo didn't want it.

You need a plan B against somebody like GGG. And because of Jr's inexperience, he wouldn't have anything to fall back on if Golovkin started hurting and shaking him. Except the canvas, of course!

I fear Jr will end up getting hurt badly if this fight goes ahead. And if that happens, the self belief and swagger which are integral to his whole approach to boxing might be gone forever.
I imagine Eubank's chin is atleast as good as Ouma's. Eubank is also a big MW, really a SMW frame but he's young enough to make MW. I see him using a lot of clinching vs GGG, wrestling and dirty boxing will be a tool along with his explosive uppercuts.

Oh please you f'ing drama queen. You remind me of one of the wives in the crowd holding her hands over her face and the damn fight haven't even been signed. Wade is fine, Murray's fine, Monroe's fine....wait, what other losers did he fight? Oh yeah! Pretty much all of them, nevermind.

                    • I really dont understand why fans are so wrapped up in ppv numbers. who cares? really, I dont get why fans think the number of ppv buys GGGs fight got means anything other than what it means to his attorney, mgr, etc. for financial reasons.
that said, most fighters only get a couple hundred thou their 1st fight anyway, and thats usually with an opponent with some type if name recognition.
