He isn't Pernell Whitaker but acting like he has no skill is silly. If you're always looking for the knockout you're going to get hit. Your first sentence is incorrect because fighters are weary of Canelo's counter punching ability so aren't willing to engage, especially since Canelo is always fighting much smaller men pretending he's too small for middle when he comes in over 170. It's not so much his defense, which is okay but not great by any means, as much at it is his countering ability. GGG is no Whitaker, but neither is Canelo, who must have lead in his feet. GGG has a solid chin and won't be deterred by Canelo as he is not a smaller man like most of Canelo's opponents and won't be bothered by his decent but not great power. As a result the likelihood is that GGG can push Canelo backwards. Since Canelo has shown terrible footward thus far, I can't see how he beats GGG given this.

Stop it Kirkland, Lara, Trout, Angulo are every bit as big as Canelo. Matter fact all have fought at higher weight in their career then Canelo has. And everyone with the exception of maybe Lara walk around heavier in between fights then Canelo does. Nobody went into any of those fights complaining those guys are smaller then Canelo. Canelo KOd Kirkland and Angulo, dropped Trout who went into survival mode after knowing he was trailing in the fight conceding the loss and just trying to not get knocked out the last 3rd of that fight. So stop with he only fights smaller guys excuse those guys virtually the same size and only one who was not knocked out or dropped was Lara and that's because he shamed himself by running and refusing to fight. The reason these guys and others can't hit him is his defense is very good. Give the man his credit he moves his head and upper body very well, picks off punches with his gloves. Literally tons of examples and highlights of him moving his head and upper body making guys look silly as they hit air and the punch stats back up how difficult he is to hit. After he makes you miss he's got fast hands and accuracy to make you pay with counterpunching. He's one of the best counterpunchers right now. GGG can't make guys miss like canelo and is a easier target which is why he gets hit more despite facing weaker comp. And he doesn't jab anywhere as well as better jabers Canelo has faced.

GGG fans dont have a strategy . They just think their god will just knock him out with the first punch. They dont understand styles make fights and canelo style works best with someone coming at him . When this fight happen they will quickly see that GGG will not have an answer for canelos counters and especially if canelo counters hard to the body.

Yeah when that someone is 15 lbs lighter and has a glass jaw it seems to work well for Canelo...lets see how he fares when he's getting cracked by a guy his size who can punch harder then him...

yup GGG has these secret skillsets like if he wanted he could stand in front of you and make you miss like Canelo did to Cotto and others. But he just doesn't move his head or use defense when he fights bums on purpose but trust he's got it in his game. LMAO Don't tell me bums like Monroe land about 100 punches on GGG through 6 rounds but Canelo a infinitely more skilled fighter won't land a glove on him. Canelo has never been hurt just like GGG hasn't. And if GGG can't knock him out then what? I think Canelo will make GGG miss like he makes a lot of elite fighters miss countering him along the way. Taking him in deep waters and frustrating him with his faster hands and better defense.

Everyone has to be wary of GGG's power. He can have concussive damage with his punches but in my opinion, he really isn't that fast of a puncher. Has cool bodyshots though and those can definitely hurt an opponent. But in my mind, I see Canelo taking it with somewhat close UD in entertaining fight, but not FOTY canditate

They could prove me wrong, in many ways, so I just hope that this ends up happening for real. And preferably soon since Golovkin is only gonna get older.

Canelo is not trying to land jabs you idiot that's not his style. Look at the amount he throws and they throw. Now go look at the power punch stats from all these fights. That's canelos game make you miss then hit you with harder counter power shots at a much higher rate then you. That's why Lara RAN because of those power shots. If he stands and actually fights he would of been KOd. And when guys run from you what do you do? You punish them to the body. Khan was KOd because he was destroyed to the body and was so hurt by them that Canelo faked another body shot made him drop his hands and put his lights out with a right to the head. You must be a newbie if you don't know the value of power punches and are dismissing them.

Fact is these guys all threw hundreds and hundreds of ineffective jabs that they landed at such low rates career lows in amount and rates against Canelo for a reason. When you make a guy miss hundreds of jabs and land at 20% that Mayweather esche. So don't tell me these guys that are all better jabers and they barely hit Canelo with it but GGG is going to? Get the F outta here. GGG has a path to victory but it damn sure ain't with a jab. A moving jabbing GGG loses a boxing chess match to Canelo. there is only one man who was able to land any significant amount of jabs on Canelo and that is Floyd. Floyd landed almost more then Lara, Cotto, Khan combined at double the connect rate. GGG fights nothing like Floyd he ain't the defensive wizard who can stand in front of you make you miss. Everyone else not named floyd has struggled to land jabs on Canelo and the stats back that up. Canelo has neutralized better jabs then GGG.
