Then his first fight back to HBO in 2 years against some Filipino car salesman he stinks up the joint again. How many more chances do they need to give him before they realize that a) Fans don't care much for him and b) he can't produce ratings c) He's been woefully inactive.

When he beat donaire I really think that pissed people off because I think TR and hbo had aspirations of selling donaire as the air to Pac. If TR and hbo truley intended on pushing rigo why would you stage the fight in nj instead of Miami? Rigo's win over Donaire may have been a while ago but it's still a risky and great win!

GGG had/has his chances with likes of Pound for Pound top 2 boxer and king of supermiddleweight Andre Ward and currently the best jr.middleweight fighter and champ just one division below!!

Yeah, Rigo ducked Loma but the man is very small even for his division! GGG has enough in his arsenal where he can keep much bigger fighters very honest and even beat them!

It's not like they haven't tried to push rigo...but it's all in the results. He talks like he's the best fighter on earth but he coasts against weak opposition. Even his performance against donaire, which was a beautiful display of boxing, doesn't resonate with the casual fans who want to see a brawl or a ko. Bottom line is ggg covers a wider range of fans...not saying he's better than rigo, but what he does can be appreciated by non-purists, which happen to make up a large amount of paying fans.

They're not exactly as welcoming to their 'countrymen' as you think. If it was so easy that you could promote a Cuban fighter in Miami, it would have been done by now. But why hasn't it? Because there's no market for them there. Cuban's aren't going to appear in droves to support a Black Cuban, most Cuban boxers are black. That's just reality, unfortunately, and the lack of shows proves that. If he was white would it be easier? maybe but that would wouldn't be a guarantee either. When was the last time they had a big boxing event there? It's just not a big boxing market as people think it is.

Well he was just on the undercard of a ppv with over 900k buys, and what did he do with it? All the clever marketing in the world can't make casual fans appreciate that. Look at varas on the other hand...he sold out stubhub centre off the back of his performance on the same card. Rigo has been given opportunities and he just doesn't captivate the general audience, simple as that.

And they are offering 500k? Are you serious with Loma making way way to much money, for a guy with a lost and no fans.

Loma can't pay Walters Loma can't pay Rigo but he sure gets pay very well.

If he was serious he would go and fight Gamboa at 130 who wants to fight and will sure do it for around 500k instead of cheery picking a belt from the worst 130lbs rated at 15 in the division.

Instead of wanting too much he should split the purse that way they can make the fight because HBO knows for sure they getting no rating out of this guy.
