I think he wanted to emphasize that Canelo is in reality a bigger middleweight than GGG, your argument is valid if Ward stay the same 168lb at fight night, but you should now that it is impossible, when GGG is 172 Andre will probably be around 180-185 at fight night. Ward didn't make any attempt to fight GGG immediately after he fought Smith. That is complete bollocks.

The rest of it is just Abel sounding off, turning Ward's own double standards against him. Dawson had to come down, and Golovkin would have to go up. That annoyed Abel, and it's easy to see why.

If Golovkin was Mexican he would get more PPV buys . Here in american we have more Mexicans than Kazak people. Ill bet more people in Kazakstan watch GGG fights than Canelo fights. If GGG was Mexican he would be the top draw here in American and Mexico.

FYI - only casual fans mention fight-night weight. REAL fans understand that the total amount of functional muscle-mass and conditioning that you can take into a fight is determined at the official weigh-in..... rehydration weight, or water-weight, will not help at all in that regard, and can even be detrimental.

Canelo has never fought a middleweight opponent, and has never prepared for a fight where he will weigh more than 155.

He will be much stronger at 160, just like Ward is at 175.

he probably would, no one is discussing that... but the fact is that ggg is the one that needs canelo, not the other way... now that canelo doesnt have the title the fight will only happen on canelo's terms, this year, next year, 154, 160, mexico city, etc... ggg will just have to bend if he really wants it... not defending that, but thats the way it is, and if ggg and his team dont aknowledge this, then the fight wont happen...
