First of all, don't start crying to me about deflecting. This thread, and this argument, was about Ward and Kovalev, and that's what I was discussing, till people started coming at me with ... "GGG doe ... GGG doe" ... as soon as I said something critical about Ward. Now that's deflecting.
Second, Golovkin has NEVER said that he wouldn't fight Ward at 168. All he and Loeffler said was that 50/50 money and weight would be fair, and that was a hypothetical answer to a hypothetical question, put to them by a journalist during an interview.
Of course they didn't ask Froch and Chavez for catchweights. Froch and Chavez were the cashcows of the SMW division, and Golovkin was actually chasing fights with them.
It's interesting though that Golovkin was willing to fight Froch, the best name on Ward's resume, in the UK, which was something Ward wasn't willing to do himself.
