Kovalev lost NOTHING by making the deal. If the fight happens, fine. If it doesnt happen, fine. He is not giving up anything by making the deal. This has been explained many times, but had GGG accepted Ward's "offer", he would have been stripped of the IBF title for not making the mandatory defense, and stripped of the WBC interim title as well, which meant he wouldnt have gotten the WBC title. So basically GGG would have given up 2 world titles at 160 to face Ward, giving purse parity to a guy who cant sell out an Elks Lodge outside Oakland, and all that is assuming Ward wouldnt have pulled out with an injury or a lawsuit.

Abel is going to talk Kovalev v Ward into super fight status...Let him keep talking it's good for the ratings and both of their careers. Considering how many Holes Sanchez has irritated these past three years, expect people to tune in to have him proved wrong.
