lol at ward fans thinking he is daring to be great by moving up like he has another choice? the guy can't make 168 lbs anymore. if he could he would. and would stay around for GGG and the other champions there. but he can't. so what's he gonna do? he is at a dead end. lets see if he cant delay his fight with KOva a little longer

When was the last time you heard Golovkin bleating about needing tune-ups before a big fight?
When has GGG been inactive like Ward was? and when the hell has GGG ever had a big fight period?

Golovkin has never been inactive, because he isn't like Ward.

And if he's never had a big fight that's because no big name opponents would fight him, not because he needed tune-ups.

That's because his whole career has been tune ups

I have seen this pattern often and may be its a coincidence too( though I have my doubts)..
The title always is listed as Golovkins Coach instead of Abel Sanchez whenever he is interviewed or says something about Ward, Mayweather, Canelo etc..
Come to think of it Roach, Garcia, Atlas all have their names listed in the titles in most articles..
Heck even promoters like Hearn have their names listed..
But when Abel or Toms interviews are published they title it as Golovkins Coach or Promoter

This thread is not about GGG, its about Kovalev vs. Ward. Just my opinion but it would be tough to discount Ward's ability under any circumstance. Its just that Kovalev is such a brawler with knock out power and that killer instinct. Should be a great fight.

Golovkin had problems with his promoter back in Germany. They also promoted Felix Sturm and kept GGG away from him. Unlike Ward though, GGG kept fighting till he could get out of his contract and relocate to the States.

If Ward wanted so fight GGG so badly, why did he say he wasn't ready when HBO asked them about fighting each other back in 2013?

If Ward wanted to fight GGG so badly, why did he wait till he was put under pressure by HBO to take some meaningful fights before sending Loeffler that bull**** offer last year?

And it says a lot about your blinkered take on boxing that you actually believe that Erislandy Lara would be a BIG FIGHT for Golovkin!
