If I'm supposedly the ignorant one, then how do you keep making up excuses for Lara not fighting GGG, and yet not expect any logically thinking person to come to the conclusion that your motive is more excuses for your hero GGG? Newsflash: A person doesn't have to specifically say a certain thing for their words to be easily translated as such. You inferred it, not me. If you have no issue with Lara getting a shot vs GGG, then prove it by nixing any more excuses.

You're obviously the one with difficulty understanding the concept of making excuses and how that's perceived. Seems you could stand to lose that density.

Exactly!! I don't understand why these writers the most basic common sense questions....Lara and his team are so full of **** it's comical. To all the Lara lovers, explain to me why in the 1.5/2 years that he's been calling out GGG on social media, he has made absolutely zero offers to GGGs team to begin negotiations, nor has he told his master Al Haymon to contact Tom Loeffler to gauge interest in the fight- yet he wants to fight him 'so desperately'.

Him and his team are attention whores since Lara is not highly regarded by the paying boxing public. Until he sends a serious offer (which he won't) his word is garbage.

And how do you know it hasn't happens? And ggg ppl has stated they don't want the fight, and I ask why a 154 Champion can't challenge himself against another champ from another division? Armstrong went from 135 all the way to 160, in era that they didn't have junior weights, Duran fought SRL for the belt and he jumped 12 lbs to do it, he fought palomillo first but it was because he chose to do it, I can go on and on with champs from one division below going straight for the belt...

They actually convince themselves that Monroe Jr is comparable to Lara. You now the complete unknown GGG beat compared to the famous cuban defector who's only ever lost by rip off (I do think his draw is legit but Carlos Molina is a boss)

Knock Lara all you want, but he'd give GGG more problems than most (if not all) of his challenges so far, simply because of his boxing style. No one has really looked good vs Lara to this point. So there's the real challenge. Not saying Lara wins, but if GGG doesn't fight him, IMO it's a duck. And it won't be the first one for him. Take on all comers, THEN you can beat your chest and make Tarzan screams all you want.

While I respect GGG and like him. He's not the only fearless gifted fighter in a league of their own. Erislandy Lara is another fighter nobody wants to fight yet he's been calling on Golovkin. It seems GGG is bucking and isn't used to be called out by what we all know he percieves to be..An equal in the ring.
This would really be the master Bull vs Matador fight. Would be epic af.

This fight won't happen because so few even like to watch Lara fight. With two other championship bought, Lara's last fight didn't break 500k on Showtime. GGG last four have averaged well over a million.

But it's not these numbers to blame so much as it is what Lara is asking for purse wise. It's been said repeatedly, Lara doesn't command millions of dollars to fight GGG, and k2 has zero reason to dole it out to him. GGG wins, the haters who call for this fight just say he was too small.

And I think both Lara and Jacobs are showtime fighters, doubtful they are coming to HBO.



On flip side, Lara hasn't looked great against out of top ten JRMW, like his last fight.

You can't duck guy in other divisions who only recently would even be able to come to HBO, if indeed it's possible. And fights have to be profitable, and with Lara asking for $3-$6 million, it's not a fight that will happen.

If Lara would take a reasonable purse for the small fan base he has, I'd be betting k2 would consider him. 450k with two other championship fights is not gonna command you $3-$6 million. Then GGG would need $5-8. Undercard, promotions, etc. it'd have to be ppv, and that's not happening.

They didn't say he was ducking him. And the difference is Floyd has publicaly said GGG would be easy work, but then made excuses. GGG hasn't said Lara's name.

Simple--- Because if Lara did send an offer or told Al Haymon to contact Tom Loeffler, he would have mentioned it asap to all boxing news outlets. Not only would it validate his claim that he is serious about fighting GGG, it would also provide tangible evidence that he's not all talk and GGGs team would have to then respond the offer. But as you can clearly see, in all his social media rants over the last two years on claiming to 'fight GGG' -- There is zero mention by him or any one on his team of any offer being made or presented.

Think about it--- IF he did make an offer, you don't think he would be all over social media claiming they sent an offer to GGG and it was turned down or ignored?? GGGs team would also have to comment on why they did or did not turn down the offer.

Alas, he's full of **** and all talk--- There are no offers and never will be-- Just a pathetic attention grabbing attempt by using GGGs name.

I do think that a champion challenging another champion in a higher weight class is amazing and admirable---IF they are serious and sincere about it. Lara is neither of these. All those fighters you mentioned above are legends and are from a far different boxing era than the one from today. Back then, it was truly the 'best fighting the best' - Today, there are promotional, network, and managerial issues preventing some amazing fights from happening. (Eg HBO and PBC/Showtime don't do business with each other-- another point Lara does not seem to address in his rants).

So if a fighter dares to be great and sincerely challenges another champ from another division - and by challenge, I mean by negotiations not 'twitter rants' then by all means-- Im all for it!

Another issue Lara does not address is that he hasnt even faced the best in his own division, much less at MW. The Charlo bros and D.Andrade are all advised by Al Haymon and fight on the PBC/ Showtime networks, just like Lara. These fights are extremely easy to make yet, Lara is not even attempting or talking about making these fights---- strange don't you think?
