Comments Thread For: Lara's Trainer: Golovkin Should Want To Test Himself Against Lara

To an extent, Ronnie Shields understands Gennady Golovkin's reluctance to fight Erislandy Lara. What Shields, Lara's trainer, doesn't understand is why boxing fans and media make it sound as if no one around the middleweight limit wants to fight Golovkin when Lara clearly does. Shields is confident the skilled Cuban southpaw could present problems for Golovkin most of his opponents have been unable to offer.

Knock Lara all you want, but he'd give GGG more problems than most (if not all) of his challenges so far, simply because of his boxing style. No one has really looked good vs Lara to this point. So there's the real challenge. Not saying Lara wins, but if GGG doesn't fight him, IMO it's a duck. And it won't be the first one for him. Take on all comers, THEN you can beat your chest and make Tarzan screams all you want.

At first I didn't want to see this fight, because lara getting ko'd was basically a foregone conclusion. But at this point,id actually want it to happen, just to watch Lara get mauled. I was actually rooting for the guy when he faught canelo, but he decided to lay an egg during the biggest fight of his career, and run a track meet. From then on,hes literally done nothing with his career, put forth performance with the same excitement as surgery grade anesthesia, and has been running his mouth trying to get another payday. Hopefully he lands the golovkin fight, and that will be the last we'll have to hear of this Cuban fraud.

So you can duck fighters who have no fights in your division?

Golovkin is not a fighter, he is a bully.

His fans are all racists who protect him from acceptable fights. True cowards.

Gonna be a thread full of reasons why this fight SHOULDN'T happen while at the same time saying nobody wants to fight GGG.

Sanchez accused Floyd of ducking golovkin several times. Golovkin also called out Floyd on SportsNation and TMZ.

              Floyd a Black though.

more like a thread full of GGG haters who want to call him a duck over a fight that HBO probably wouldnt even buy in the first place.

most knowledgable fans are fine with a Lara fight, as long as negotiations with Saunders and Jacobs have been attempted first. Nobody is afraid of Lara. He just isnt anyones first choice (and rightfully so)

Lara vs Golovkin would be exactly like the willie monroe fight maybe 2 rounds longer. Golovkin will be all open taking his punches intentionally only to land a huge open shot and end his night. He won't be able to run away since GGG is a master cutter.

The issue with this fight is when Golovkin knocks out Lara in two rounds, Canelo(the money and fame/stardom fight for GGG) would be even harder to make. Oscar and the mexican fraud would agree to have backlash abuse of a lifetime rather than getting inside the ring with GGG.
