That's your opinion.Although I agree with most of it except for the killer instinct part.None the less I still rank Marciano over Dempsey whether or not Jack was more skilled.If I was ranking purely on skill than Marciano would not be near the top of my list.His heart,chin,power,and yes killer instinct was what made him great.

Dempsey has more of a killer instinct, and the films show it. Dempsey has more first round knockouts of any champion in any weight class in the history of boxing. How many first round ko's does marciano have? Dempsey would stand over opponents and hammer away not caring anything about his opponent. I've never seen Marciano look that ferocious in any of his fights.

Marciano was nothing but killer instinct!Every punch was meant to knock your head off.Ask any of his opponents.So what if Dempsey had more first round knockouts?As you've already stated, Marciano is a slow starter.And Dempsey had more technigue behind his punches.This doesn't prove anything to me.
