Rocky Marciano is the greatest white fighter of all time, followed closely by Benny Leonard.

Weren't we talking about "Heavyweights" ?

because if it is open to all weight classes, P4P, Marciano is not the best, especially when you compare his resume with others.

Well Tunney was lucky he fought a Dempsey that wasn't in his prime.

Dempsey was inactive for 3 years I believe. That's Dempsey's fault though, he openly avoided many challengers.

Whether his fault or not, he was not a prime Dempsey when he fought Tunney.

Agree, it is his fault, but if you had to choose from getting beaver from Hollywood actresses, making a lot of money doing promotional work, etc. or boxing, which would you pick?

However, Marciano against Roland LaStarza has a serious look, but it doesn't look half as mean as Dempsey's expression.

So as you can see, Dempsey is the more ferocious fighter, since Marciano just wants to knock you out, while Dempsey wants to kill you!

                Enough said.
I gotta tell ya,im still not convinced because of facial expressions in a couple of pictures

Why butterfly....I didn't know you were a student of human psychology.

However, concerning their personality and intent, I agree with you. Very nice.

Dempsey had this sort of vendetta and inability to cope with the changing ways of the bourgeois 1920's post war America that made him as sort of an animal. He was mean, he was morally corrupt, and he was a genuinely vicious guy.

Marciano wasn't an angry man, he was as happy go lucky as they come. Marciano had a positive disposition as a man, he didn't want to kill people like Dempsey. Good **** Butterfly.
