Real fans want fights that are evenly matched, not mismatch fights. Many if not most GGG fans, want the fight to take place NOW (as in this year) because they KNOW GGG has a huge advantage having fought what 15, 20 or more? Fighters in the 160-pound weight limit. CANELO HAS NOT FACED A SINGLE REAL 160-POUNDER AS OF YET, can't I be more clear about what the advantage is?
Even if Canelo fought and destroyed Lemieux at 160, that would only be ONE FIGHT of Canelo vs. a legit 160-pounder, so still, the experience advantage would go for GGG by a landslide. But i think that, in the confidence aspect, Canelo would be way, WAY more energized and mentally ready than the way he and his team feel now.
FYI I am not a fan of any of any of the two particularly, but I love watching fighters WHO FIGHT, like these two, as opposed to runners, or so-called "defensive fighters" such as Lara, Rigondeaux, Mayweather Jr. So, whoever wins if those two fight, the fans and boxing itself will be the winner. And I actually respect GGG more than Canelo at this point, as a boxer, but I lose some respect for him by knowing he wants the fight now, knowing Canelo is not ready for it yet, even if he did his ridiculous "macho display" acting like an idiot supposedly challenging GGG to come to the ring, and later on saying a bunch of nonsense about supposedly wanting to fight GGG at 160, he is not afraid of anyone and other idiotic comments in the heat of the moment, after brutally knocking out a blown-up welterweight with a weak chin.
So I would LOVE to see Canelo fight GGG, but on an even field, as opposed to now, when clearly, it is a total mismatch because Canelo neither has the experience nor the huge confidence GGG currently has, by having fought so many 160-pounders and destroyed most of them by KO, even if some people say they were tomato cans and not legit competition. Still, they have been 160-pounders, not fully blown-up welterweights or slightly blown-up super-welterweights, which is Canelo's only experience so far as a so-called "middleweight fighter."Comment

Veteran Marquez knows the proper procedure in getting fights. If you want a fight, go to your management team and tell them to make the fight for you.
If Lara and Decubas wants Golovkin like they claim they do, they should spend some time in Haymon's office, not just tweet.Comment
