If Ward really wanted to fight GGG, he would have shed the weight and met him at the scale. But he didn't did he? Easier to hide behind the can't make weight" excuses than to step up to the challenge. Ward should have taken on GGG's initial challenge when it was offered to him, yet he chose to claim "the timing's not right" excuse.
So according to you Ward is a chicken for not draining to fight Lil G...so what is he for choosing to move up to face the much bigger, stronger, and more dangerous Kovalev?

losing weight is more difficult than gaining it. 166 would have been a fairer compromise if they actually wanted the fight to happen

but i interpreted the 164 demand as team GGG basically saying "we have no good reason to fight you right now unless you really make it worth our while", which is fair enough considering the circumstances. i wish they could have had more serious discussions a little earlier, i.e. back when GGG had no better options. i'm sure negotiations would've been easier back then, but obviously ward had legal problems and injuries for a long time, so there was only ever a very small window of opportunity for this fight to realistically get made

You are a ***** if you wanna fight a faded fighter who is contemplating retirement, but you don't wanna fight the man that beat him and is considered the best fighter in that weight class.

It's the equivalent of ward saying he will fight Jean pascal cause he brings more money to the table rather than fighting Kovalev when kovalev is the man the whole world respects as the kingpin of the division.

        See the flaw in that?

Ward fans can't wait til he fights kovalev.
Golovkin fans don't want him in a 50/50 fight period.

I happen to like them both and I wanna see them in the most dangerous fights possible. But that's because I'm a fan of the sport. Not a fanboy.

If you dont wanna see your favorite fighter fight the most dangerous guys out there you are a fanboy of a fighter. Not a fan of boxing.
Nobody knows who Ward is his fans are utter shiiiiiitttt!
Can't travel out of Jokeland lol, Froch is a bigger name and even after beating the guys Ward has he isn't a bigger name than Kessler or Froch.

You got the last bit right you're definitely not a fan of boxing.

It's the equivalent of ward saying he will only come to 175 for Jean pascal because he brings more money to the table than kovalev. rather than fighting Kovalev who already beat pascal and is the man the whole world respects as the kingpin of the division.

What was Ward's immediate reaction to GGG's first offer?

I answer the question for you: silence for 8 months until GGG signed to fight Lemieux.

so when Floyd made 154 for Oscar and Cotto but not Canelo (152), was he "scared"?

So now Golovkin only fights fighters who are known and have a big fan base right?

                Monroe jr- huge fan base
                adama- huge fan base
                Lemieux- ppv star
Ricky Rubio the basketball player- Mexican legend.(Lol)
                Macklin- huge fan base
                geale- huge fan base
                rosado huge fan base
                wade- cash cow

                Ward has no fanbase doe.

And that's what canelo is doing. Negotiating, so don't be a hyoocrite and call him a coward when he requests 155 for GGG.

                    2 can play that game

he was never a threat in the first place. He's one of those barking dogs behind a fence who once they see the gate is actually open they run and hide.....
