Why didn't Ward accept to fight GGG at 164?

Arent catchweights logical when two guys from different divisions want to fight each other?
So GGG is the best at 160, Ward is(was) the best at 168. The most logical way out to make this fight was to fight in the middle i.e 164. How is demanding 164 any wrong? Why would Ward deny it?

Look, at 160 its advantage to Golovkin, at 168 its advantage to Ward, at 164 its at 0 (neutral) with advantage to none, and GGG was confident he could beat Ward at zero point without having any unfair advantages, i.e p4p skill vs skill.
However, apparently Ward needed an advantage to even consider a fight with Golovkin, its a shame he think he can't beat GGG without having him at a physical disadvantage.

I know GGG said anyone from 154-168, and he can be considered wrong to demand 164 esp for Ward. Lets assume GGG knew he gets beaten at 168 (with adv to Ward), but then again if he knows he can beat him at neutral weight why didn't Ward think the same?

Because GGG went fishing for fights in Wards weight class against Froch and JCC Jr and had no problem wanting to fight them at the full SMW limit.

If he wanted those fights as fights he could have to get comfortable at the weight, that would be fine. He didn't and his team didn't.

You don't go into another mans division, claim you could take anyone, try to fight others at the weight and have no intention of fighting the best at the weight then have the audacity to try and CW him.

It's weak. If Ward tried something like that with Kovalev, this forum would go after him. No excuses for GGG. None.

Umm, Ward called Floyd out at 160?

The reason why Ward would sacrifice eight ponds to fight FLoyd, is because the MONEY and magnitde of the fight.

The reason GGG would sacrifice more to fight Froch is the magnitude of the fight, and the money involved. Froch just did 80k in Wembley against the unproven Groves. GGG would have made AT LEAST double than he would in at fight against Ward, doing maybe 250k in the States.

      Ward straight BITHCED OUT. NEEXXT.

          1. Andre Ward already addressed him calling out Floyd as a joke so..............................................

          2. Froch did 80k at Wembley against Groves a DOMESTIC RIVAL. Of course people filled out. It's two countrymen going at it. Frampton and Quigg filled out wherever they were fighting. Joshua and Whyte filled out at the O2. Domestic Rivalries will always sell well. GGG is going to sell out Wembley because of what? Don't get it twisted.

          3. No excuses. Punk move.

It wasn't a joke, he'd fight Mayweather at 160, but he didn't want people causing noise and creating tension between him and Mayweather with "callouts", when he knew the likelihood of Mayweather ever fighting at 160(the lowest Ward deemed he'd be able to manage) was very, very low and he was/is a big Floyd fanboy. So it would just be separating him from his boxing love.

The same reason why Golovkin won't fight Canelo at 155 lbs - it's fuucking ******ed.

Using that same logic, Golovkin could have fought Canelo at 155 lbs - he was willing to go to 154 lbs for Mayweather.

Where and what exactly in that video debunks anything I said? Bloody fanboy you are.

It's exactly as I said, and there are other videos of him wording it more clearly. He's a "realist" and knows Mayweather would never fight at 160lb's. It still stands that if Mayweather would, he would drop down to 160.
