I can't see Ward ever making any concessions to get this fight made. Everything he does suggests that Ward feels that Golovkin is lucky that Ward would condescend to even consider getting in the ring with him let alone letting him have a say in the venue or purse split. The man probably could have earned a career best pay day embarrassing Carl Froch in front of his home fans but his ego wouldn't let him be "dictated" to.

Forget what Ward has said nothing Ward has done suggests he was any more serious than Golovkin was in making the fight. At least Golovkin's team can say the reward does not match the risk even if that is one of the lamest excuse ever. Neither side can claim to have done anything more than make lame token gestures just to placate their fans and claim the moral high ground.

Why are we even still talking about it? Ward has stated he has no intention of ever going back down to 168 and considering how people reacted when Sanchez talked that 164 nonsense I can already see how any request for a catchweight below 175 is going to have people shouting duck!

both teams crapped all over the fight. didn't appear like either wanted it. i agree.

you don't crap on fights that you want . duva never crapped on ward. ward and his people never crapped on kovalev.

it's like floyd mayweather crapping on manny until he was old and ready to be taken without a lot of risk. didn't want the fight at the time. then he wanted it.

manny and bob crapped all over the mayweather fight until manny had slipped, lost, and his earning potential had dropped and it was time to cash out.

    they didn't want the fight!

conditions are going to have to change for golovkin - ward to happen. what's most important is the weight. golovkin would have to move to 168 and look comfortable and strong. then he'd have to move up again, or they'd have to pick a weight in the middle. he's 34, and he's been at MW for a long, long time. he's just not that big, and i don't think his people fancy his chances against a durable, elite boxer with 10-15 lbs on him.

and ward would first have to get past sergey kovalev . that's a tougher fight than golovkin. again, conditions. they've got to change. ward needs to beat kovalev and become a superstar to incentivize golovkin moving up and forgetting alvarez. not sure if he can do it. and golovkin - alvarez is a bigger fight anyway, so why chase ward unless anything changes, or it becomes clear that the fight will never happen?

    conditions.

The facts are that Ward is without a mid-summer opponent while Kovalev is already training for his. Ward and his team are setting you guys up for the "Well, unfortunately since I couldn't find an opponent for my second tuneup fight, I won't be able to face Kovalev in November" excuse.

GGG is a middleweight champion while Ward is a light heavyweight contender. One guy is keeping his division paralyzed with fear and the other guy is worrying about a guy 20 pounds lighter than himself......lol. Them damn facts don't always work out for us now do they?

Candelita can't make the 154 limit, has weighed in at 155 for the past 3 years which makes her a middleweight. The limit for the middleweight division is 160 and we are talking about 2 middleweight boxers.

Ward couldn't make the 168 pound limit which makes him a light heavyweight. GGG and Ward were technically separated by 2 divisions, they are nowhere near the same size. Ward was claiming that he was still able to make 168 so a fair compromise for both guys in different divisions would be to meet in the middle, which would be 164.

So two guys fighting in the same division compared to two guys separated by one division. Obviously two totally different situations.

Gg should have fought Froch at 170

Top 5 p4p is an opinion...one I don't agree with...any fighter with talent can beat a certain level of fighter. His resume isn't p4p material. The eye test takes you so far. Its about who you beat.

If you paid attention, I give GGG credit. He is a good fighter. He can be great when he decides to take more risk's.

The same risks his die hard fans ask of other fighters instead of make excuses for fighting no names, and mandatories more often than good comp. Lemiuex was a step in the right direction. Now he needs to face other top ten guys @ 160...nothing more or less.

His team is wasting his talent "unifying".

Technically you're not accomplishing anything being handed belts and defending against no en******

Its upsetting to see someone so talented waste time on C class fighters more times than not

                    Fangirl nonsense.

GGG sure fights a lot for somebody that can't get anybody to fight him.

Golovkin rejected Canelo's catchweight then turned right around and tried to impose one a Ward.

All that shi.t about anybody from 154 to 168 was just Girl-talk.

The guy stayed in the amateurs until he was dragged away kicking and screaming....now he's in a dead division and afraid to challenge himself or take risks.....he's a friggin' coward.

An old coward on top of it.
