If it happens, great. Probably not. Canelo and GBP wants $$$ but not at the expense of embarassing Canelo in the ring.

Canelo said that "we don't fight for belts we fight for honor" which looks like he may rather vacate the WBC MW belt instead of giving up his 155 weight.

GGG should wait until Canelo vacates or WBC strips him and then offer him a fight at 154...

As Canelo will still hold Oscar's Ring "lineal" belt, they may fight for that belt -- the same Floyd did at 147 with that strap at 154...

Therefore Canelo would be able to fight both for honor and for belts...
I think this is whats gonna happen.

It would depend on the business model. Free social media is the primary means of advertisement, which acts as the bridge between generations of fight fans.

Nothing builds hype like the word "free" as it offers everyone an incentive regardless of personal restrictions. Make it interesting and people will pay for the fight.

BTW, business ethics are nothing but opinions based on stats.

I agree and don't believe one second they will fight each others next.

You can tell by Oscar's phony behaviour (I'm calling him tomorow) this fight won't happen next.

Honnestly, this fight will be bigger next year, they will make GGG fight Jacobs and Candela fight Lemieux on HBO and make this fight bigger.

Risky , Canelo is not a beating Lemieux that easily , if he loses the story ends , a lose to Floyd is OK , but to a guy like Lemieux is crushing to your Elite image.

Honestly 10% of the PPV is probably a solid first offer more or less. Canelo gots 4M PPV's vs GGG's 150k PPV buys. Thats something where there is a clear edge to Canelo.

Thats kinda the promoter business. Find the highest lowest amount that'll get the other side on board.

That to me would be a fair deal.
I think the weight will still be discussed & I expect Oscar's first offer includes some sub-160lb weight although my assumption would be its a more reasonable number like 158. GGG hasn't fought at 155 since he was 20yrs old 14 years ago. He's fought at 158 4 years ago. Other than that I think your offer makes sense.

Hoping this fight is in Jerry Jones' stadium or less likely but as appealing one of those crazy bull fighting stadiums in Mexico. Lets go big with this folks & MGM boxing fans suck balls & won't even show up til the co-main. Lets get some $50 seat cats or some average run of the mill Mexicans in the stadium at 2pm watching the undercard fights & singing dueling "there's only one Canelo Alvarez" & "there's only one Gennady Golovkin" during the fight around 11pm.

Who cares? Why care. If GGG is cool with it whats the problem? That said I don't expect 155 to be doable. I think 158 isn't a crazy catchweight to make.

Did De La Hoya make Hopkins fight him at a catch-weight ? No.
I think he did actually. 158lbs.

Did Lenard make Hagler fight him at a catch-weight ? No.
I think he got every other advantage with this fight doe, big gloves, big ring & less rounds (12 instead of 15). A side **** is real. And Leonard is one of the biggest all time culprits of A side bs. He fought LHW champion for the LHW title & a vacant SMW title (a bs situation to start with) at 168. He kept the SMW belt & defended it at 164lbs vs Duran & Hearns. Leonard is actually the modern era originator of A side ****.

I think Oscar is corny enough he thinks his calling line was genius marketing. I think this fight gets made in Sept. or they will need for the WBC to get really crafty for Canelo to keep his belt til May. I think there is a ****show awaiting for Canelo & Oscar if this fight doesn't happen next. And Canelo saying he's cool with 160, but maybe that his team isn't is gonna throw the blame on his father/son trainers &/or Oscar & have bad karma on Canelo himself which will be a f#cking problem for them & probably more of a problem then they are willing to take on. Curious to see how this all goes doe.

                Ring, Ring...

Oscar: Can i get an 8 ball delivered, oh sorry..wrong number

                Ring, Ring

Oscar : We want 155, 90-10 split, sparring gloves, head gear. And the venue will be Canelo's back yard. Oh, and no punching in the face.

                Loeffler : Bye Oscar.

Do you think Lemieux could make 155? I think Lemieux would be a problem for Canelo @ 160. I think Oscar would rather someone like Timothy Bradley or one of the Charlo Bros. in Houston!

So have they officially decided to answer the yes or no question, Do you want to fight GGG next? Why are they negotiating if they haven't answered that question? At this point Oscar can pull out before the 15 days and blame it on negotiations and the fight never goes to purse bid. Once the 15 day period passes that's when I'll feel confident of the fight happening because that's when it goes to purse bid if negotiations break down within 30 days. K2 could expedite a purse bid like GYM did to Main Events and get this fight moving.
