Fight to be fought at the 160 pound limit, choice of venue, date to Canelo. 70/30 split in Canelo's favour but give both guys some of the action if certain buys get reached.

That to me would be a fair deal.

That would be fair. And no way it goes to purse bid. GGG team would love that but Canelo would just drop the belt then pay GGG that much.

Believe it's gonna be at Dallas Stadium. Be an AWESOME fight!!!

Yep. Canelo is the underdog in this fight. So the deal has to take into account that Canelo is likely to lose, possibly by KO. No-one would blame Canelo for trying to get max money out of the fight.

Are there no other large stadiums close to a Mexican fan base? In LA for example?

I pray to God ggg doesn't accept a catch-weight. Did De La Hoya make Hopkins fight him at a catch-weight ? No. Did Tito Trinidad make Hopkins fight him at a catch-weight ? No. Did Lenard make Hagler fight him at a catch-weight ? No. Canelo can fight ggg for that title and all the other ones in a year or 2 when he feels ready. I rest on your face.

Actually De la Hoya promoted by Bob Arum at the time requested a catchweight of 158 to face Hopkins then undisputed middleweight champion. I watched an interview today with Hopkins saying he complained at first though why would a champion come down for a challenger? The answer was because of the name of the challenger de la Hoya was a big name just as Canelo is a big name. You know what Hopkins did? He accepted the deal at 158 and came to the weigh in at 157 to prove a point all his words. He said GGG should follow his route and take the catchweight look it up

It's a big difference: the much smaller paper champ wasn't ordered to fight Hopkins, he just wanted to so demanded a reasonable CW. OTOH these guys are desperate to avoid their mando so you get 155, 90/10, hasn't earned it, some day, down the line

Texas borders Mexico. Texas is big. It follows that there are lots of Mexicans here.
