Virgil may be Ward's trainer, but he is a boxing man. He knows there is a big difference between turning down an offer to move up and fight a man in a higher division, and refusing to fight another champion in your own division without a catchweight.

Btw, the difference between Khan and Mayweather vs Canelo is that Floyd dragged Canelo down to 152, while Khan had to move up to 155 to fight him.

Maybe, maybe not. If this fights gets signed for Sept. whats your narrative on why its happening 4 mos after it wasn't happening? Is there a reason Canelo &/or his team feel they couldn't beat GGG in May & now they feel they can in September?

For me I've always favored Canelo over GGG since its been on the table & still do although I believe it'll be closely contested. I think for sure Canelo thinks he can win. Hell I even think Oscar thinks Canelo wins, but I feel like he was/is pushing the fight out as long as possible so he feels more secure with Canelo's chance of winning. GGG & his people think GGG wins too. F#ck Khan thought he was gonna win last night too.

This is a sport where you need to be a lil f#cking delusional lets be honest. Everyone can't be #1, but I think more of the guys we talk about on this forum believe they are or can be #1 then guys who think whoever (GGG in this case) will beat their ass.

So he did just "play around" with idea he will fight GGG or will he vacate? Hope not. This fight is ripe right now! Make it happen for the fans!
He should vacate, he's too small for MW. I don't understand why any hardcore fan, who should know better, would want to see this. Canelo should just stop the non sense and drop back down where he belongs

The difference is also that Khan was much bigger than Floyd, but his hand speed wasn't enough. Floyd's boxing IQ is far superior to anyone alive on this planet! That's what Khan never had, and it's why he's always in trouble. The other difference is when Floyd went up fight Oscar and Cotto @ 154, or Canelo @ 152, he made those guys respect him, even on the inside. Khan had no inside game. It will be interesting to see what GGG looks like when he goes up, if he ever does. I think he'll be dropping weight before he does that.

I've never seen anything from Canelo that would give him a hope in hell of beating Golovkin. He knows that and so do his trainer and Oscar.

When I saw him and Khan face to face before the fight, saw how much bigger Canelo is than Amir, I felt something I have never felt for a boxer before and never thought I would feel. I felt contempt for Canelo.

When he came over and knelt down next Khan after the KO, if I had been Virgil Hunter, I would have stood up and kicked him in the face as hard as I could.

I hope K2 don't give him a catchweight for Golovkin. I hope they tell him 160 or no deal and let him crawl away to defend his Ring belt against more blown up WWs till even his own ****** fans realise what a cynical paper champion he is.

Also, Canelo made 154.5 last year and still makes 155, you guys that think he can't make an extra .5 lbs are being willfully ignorant.
Look theres 2 ways making weight where your cut and without no fat and **** on the weight ...and there's cutting weight where your dehydrated and severly weight drained and **** on weight.....if canelo can make the weight then let him make the weight of 154lb but I haven't seen any clear signs that he can make that weight anymore, basically what we saw last night was a full fledged middlweight who cuts that little bit more so his weight is 155 and not 160....and I'm also telling you that golovkin could also look like that body wise if he also drainded down to 156 or 155 , but the difference is golovkin don't need to be a member of the 155lb canelo division and use that as some sort of protection as to avoid other fighters his actual size...as what I said before if he won't fight golovkin then just strip him and be done with it.....it takes two fighters to make a fight

I understand what your saying fella....but let's be fair it's khans fault a 100%.. We all knew it was a suicide mission but for some reason Khan has this idea that he is some kind p4p great ...he should have took the brook fight where it was a 50/50 fight but something tells me he just don't fancy losing to brook in the UK if that happened...it was granduers of illusion from Khan and that was it, I felt sorry for him at the end and I don't like to see any fighter motionless on the canvas..but he signed the fight and he stepped in the ring.hopefully this will end amir khans self proclaimed views of himself...I believe that KO will now end khans career as top tier fighter...as for canelo he will meet his match whether it's triple ggg or not....as long as the WBC do the right thing now to me that's all that matters.....

As for Hunter, he was outta line. Needs to just chill out and go back to the gym, get to work. Hard work relieves stress.

That is completely nuts. Khan & Wade had not a hope in hell of beating Canelo & GGG respectively, but Canelo for sure isn't in the Khan or Wade boat vs GGG. GGG ain't THAT f#cking good. He's barely faced anyone who had a hope in hell of beating him to show what he might ultimately be capable of.

So saying Canelo has no hope is like saying Brook or Thurman have no hope vs Spence cuz Spence has looked unbeatable vs 19 no hopers & Algieri. Maybe that does end up being true, but there is little to suggest that based on the caliber of Spence's opposition cuz caliber of opposition matters. Canelo will be the best guy GGG has fought BY FAR. That is very likely to change a lot of things vs GGG's previous performances vs much lesser opposition.
