LOL, Canelo is such a hypejob

He can be considered a hype job if anyone puts him up there with the JC Chavez Sr types in the Mexican boxing history. But he IS a very good boxer. Yes, boxer. He figured out Khans' plan, took a few rounds but eventually overcame a boxer who had much faster hands and feet. The punch that took Khan out also took out Kirkland...feint a left hook to the body and throw an overhand right that his opponent doesn't see. It was a cold hard strategic punch, not a lucky punch by any means.
Canelo is a much better boxer than many people think.
But he IS a punk if he doesn't fight GGG at 160.Comment

The only great talent that Canelo has is cutting weight. And no one can say that he's not using illegal methods to do it. If he's so good, then why doesn't he fight a real MW at 160?
Yes. Mexicans insecure fans love him because he looks like european. What hype?
Its widely accepted that Canelo's star power outshines his ability in the ring. Its quite perculiar, as I can't remember the last time the biggest star in boxing wasn't part of the very elite. But it is what it is
In 3 of his 4 biggest fights, he was either clearly defeated (Floyd) or was on the fortunate end of a fight which could have gone either way. The fight he won in Cotto, a lot of the rounds were fairly close. I guess his appeal isn't his ability, his fans watch him for his image? I don't get it myself reallyComment

I agree with you 100% that he needs to fight GGG. I just don't think he is a hype job. He's acting like b#tch hanging on to that belt at 155.Comment

I've always thought Canelo is way overrated. He's a a pretty good fighter but he has some really glaring limitations/ weaknesses. His foot speed/ movement, his punch output and his lack of stamina is average at best. He seems to be strong and has a good chin. But he's usually fighting smaller guys so I don't know if that's just an illusion.Comment
lucky punch. Get lost.
