****** how is the worse opponent of all time when GGG just fought a worse opponent a unnamed relatively unranked fighter who was 100 to 1 underdog. Khan is a 2 time world champ and higher overall p4p ranked fighter. He's a higher caliber fighter then Wade if you can't agree on that simple fact then you need to log off. There is no ranking or criteria you can use or point to that suggests that Wade is a better level fighter then Khan yet him fighting Khan is the worst opponent of all time but let's ignore GGG fighting guys like Wade who again GGG admitted he didn't even know who he was BEFORE agreeing to fight him.

This was just a stay busy type fight for Canelo coming off a fight with Cotto and still Khan is more skilled and decorated then most of the bums GGG faces.

I don't get why it's so hard for you to understand. I don't care about GGG, we're talking about Canelo. I have no vested interest in GGG. But since you made the comparison, I'll point out that it's a ridiculous one. Chocalito is a better pound for pound fighter than Chris Arreola. If hypothetically Tyson Fury were to fight Chocalito or Arreola, which should he get more stick for? Obviously it's an extreme example but the point stands. You have to consider weight classes. Canelo would be big at middleweight ffs he comes in at 175 so to fight an average weight welterweight in Khan is a joke. I'll put it in simple terms. GGG fighting Wade was a joke and Canelo fighting Khan was a joke. If you want to argue Wade was a bigger joke I really don't care, you might be right, but as I say this isn't about Gennady. Khan was a joke opponent considering the weight differences and Khan's history and the fact that Canelo is a ****ing lineal middleweight champ.

I felt like canelo adjusted from the first few rds (either that or khan was just slowing down) because he started hitting khan with that jab and that jab set up the knock out. Overall he did what he was suppose to

dude you responded to me and mentioned GGG. That's why I'm comparing and mentioning GGG because you brought him into the discussion first. And I could care less how much you think Canelo rehydrates to. This is boxing and he is not the first or won't be the last to rehydrate so that is literally irrelevent to me. Khan went up 8 pounds to fight Canelo but Khan is a naturally bigger man then both Manny and Floyd. floyd turned pro at super featherweight Manny was fighting at what flyweight. Khan turned pro at super lightweight and won his first title at 140. In between fights he walks around heavier then both Manny and Floyd. Yet GGG was begging both those men to fight him at 154 and would of fought them if they agreed to it. So don't give me crap about fighting guys too small when GGG wanted to fight guys smaller then Khan. And nobody cared when Floyd held 2 belts at 154 one of which he won at a catchweight and one of which he defended for a 2 year period at 147 despite technically being the 154 lb champ. The belts mean nothing hell one of these phony belts just told you that fraud no named bum Wade was the number 1 contender due a mandatory shot despite him not being on ANYBODY's top 10 rankings. You want to say Canelo is not a real middleweight champ go ahead I won't argue. He's as much a middleweight champ as Manny and Floyd were Jr Middleweight champs despite both winning belts at catchweights for those titles.

Its widely accepted that Canelo's star power outshines his ability in the ring. Its quite perculiar, as I can't remember the last time the biggest star in boxing wasn't part of the very elite. But it is what it is

In 3 of his 4 biggest fights, he was either clearly defeated (Floyd) or was on the fortunate end of a fight which could have gone either way. The fight he won in Cotto, a lot of the rounds were fairly close. I guess his appeal isn't his ability, his fans watch him for his image? I don't get it myself really
He is an extremely rare commodity who was built up on national television for years until stepped up to world class fighters. Not hard to understand why he is a huge star in Mexico.

Like other posters have stated he and his camp are master water cut manipulaters. It's sad that boxing commissions allow the water cuts that guys do these days. It allows JCC jr to come into fights the same size as Jack Dempsey and fight Middleweights. This guy does the same thing and is scared to fight a guy who is the same weight as him on fight night? That's what I don't get.

Regardless of what any other fighters have done, if you think fighting Khan is defensible there is something seriously wrong with you.

Canelo is no hype. He's as pure a boxer, as far as skill and technique, as there ever was.

The only person I don't see him beating is Floyd.

Interesting on the punch stats for Canelo/Khan - Khan was less accurate than Canelo.

Amir Khan has almost always been more accurate than his opponent. That's telling. It means judges and many watchers were swayed by Amir's footwork and jabs rather than actual connects, and Canelo would likely have been robbed had he not put the boy to sleep.

                  Canelo has now...
1 - Been easily defeated by Mayweather.
2 - Got a gift decision against Lara.
3 - Got a gift decision against Trout.
4 - Struggled to beat a shot Cotto.
5 - Knocked out a shot Kirkland, who was not that special to begin with.
6 - Got completely outboxed by Amir Khan, only winning due to power and size advantage.

It was a superb performance by the young veteran Canelo. He didn't get too frustrated and kept his cool. He knew that evetually he'd time Khan.
