    • 50/50 probably more fair. Oscar being Oscar.

      • They're fighting Khan, but spend too much time talking about Floyd and GGG

        • Maybe it would be closer to 65/35 then.

Perhaps I did underestimate Mayweather/Canelo..... I'm not sure about numbers/whatever, I just thought that 60/40 in both situations was fair.

Golovkin would be Canelo's biggest fight, and his biggest payday, surely ?

Golovkin is Canelo's first PPV opponent as THE A-SIDE ?

          Is that right ?

They will make that money TOGETHER.

60/40 - with Canelo getting ALL the trimmings, sounds fair.

That is what Mayweather gave Pacquiao, and no way did Pac deserve 40% if you tally up their gate/PPV numbers..... Mayweather sets records in BOTH.

I get the A-side thing, but don't you have to be reasonable in order to get the fight made?

Same with Golovkin and his 160 demand for Canelo.

Exactly how many PPV's has Canelo sold since fighting Mayweather? I'll do you a favor.....the answer is about 1.5 million. Oh yeah, Canelo is definitely the A-side. Stop the madness.

Yea, don't believe a word of it..... Mayweather will be a HUGE a-side, against EVERY possible opponent, for the rest of his career. Nothing will change.

But some folks are saying Canelo should get 30%, or less. I think 35-40.

If Mr 400k wants a shot at the cash cow he needs to bend over and accept the A side's demands.

Mayweather sold 66% MORE than Canelo did against their only common opponent, Cotto.

Mayweather sold 400k vs a look-good opponent who EVERYBODY knew was going to lose.

If Canelo got 40%..... that would be because Mayweather gave it to him.

Now who do you think would get the lion's share of the live gate and PPV money? Mayweather Promotions or Matchroom?

                    This is too easy.

True, but he is right about Canelo.

If Khan is getting $13mil as the opponent, that means the red kid is huge.

Im'a stick with my 60/40 guess.

I am not saying that your figures are wrong..... just that your figures won't get the fight made.

Same with Team Golovkin demanding 160.

If either of those guys make those kind of demands, they can forget it.

                      e.g.
Mayweather gave Pacquiao 40%, and if you calculated the actual numbers for those guys as you did above, technically no way would Pac deserve 40%.

Mayweather did that to get the fight made, and to make a large piece of a huge pie, rather than almost all of nothing. Those guys will have to do business, and they will have to be reasonable.

I can't see it happening LMAO
business is business; Golovkin flopping on PPV, and Alvarez being his high-profile fight, leaves Golovkin in a position where he's just gonna have to take what Golden Boy offers.

Alvarez can walk and still be a massive star; with Ward moving on, and Billy Joe Saunders not even considering the fight for what they've already offered, what is Golovkin's next fight?

Mayweather gave Pacquiao 40%, because that was the cost of getting Top Rank to the table for a fight that Mayweather was seemingly desperate to get done. You compare the business that both guys were doing at the time, and, on a purely 'what you bring to the table' basis, Floyd likely would've commanded anywhere from 70-30 Mayweather to 65-35 Mayweather; Floyd gave a little to appease Bob Arum (and committed to emasculating him from the entire promotional process for the fight, as his receipt for giving up some money).

Golovkin walks away from 80-20 Canelo (guessing at the Alvarez-Khan buyrate and counting the German TV, you're likely talking about $8m-$10m to Golovkin's camp), and there's not a fight for him where he makes $4m.
