No you are not. "Fighting someone that can beat you" is a criticism the ****** wing of the GGG fanbase used to detract from certain guys (Floyd, ward, etc). These same guys were vehemently against "businessman" boxers.

Now that posters are asking GGG to do this, some of his base think this suggesting is outrageous. Well if that determined greatness before GGG was in the spotlight, it should continue to be used now that he is.

There will be plenty of comments to that effect. GGG may not need Canelo to make money, but he needs Canelo to make the $10 mil level of money... the biggest payday of his lifetime.
I don't think Lewis got any flack from the fans when Bowe trashed the belt.

What's this 10m you're talking about? Oscar was first saying 10% for Ggg which is much less. Lately he's been saying "some day, down the line" which is $0

We already know Canelo is a diva so no need to comment on that. It just seems that Golovkin is only willing to move up or down for fighters he thinks he can beat.
its only his die hard the GGG faithful(Gargle Gennady's Gonads) who remain oblivious to this.

A few years ago, it was all about unifying and nobody will fight him at 160 so 154-175 we taxing ass

Fast forward to 2016 and all that he wants to proof he is great is thrown out of the window

Lara- is supposedly unknown....what was Wade? Rosado?

          will fightFroch-168.....Ward-164

          wont fightCanelo-nothing below 160.......Mayweather-154

its risk-reward ratio they are playing with, to pad his record, build his following then the cash out....too bad they are running out of time to play

And yet somebody else has been savaging me in this same thread for, supposedly, being naive and not understanding that boxing is all about making money!

And the answer to my question is no.

No fighter in his right mind would even consider moving up or down for fights he didn't think he could win when there are big paydays waiting for him in his own division.

In those cases the much smaller guys, former Sfw champs WANTED to fight the much bigger guy so demanded reasonable CWs, they weren't forced or threatened with strippage. Here this paper champ is ordered to fight his same size mando who he's desperate to avoid hence unreasonable CW demand, but not even an offer. Need more help?
I would hate for you to be my promoter. You're a very principled man, but very ignorant of the history of the fight game. I know it devastates you that a MW champion (Oscar & Canelo) wpuld ask another MW champion (B-Hop & GGG) to concede to a CW. Or how about a SWW champion (Floyd) asking another SWW champion (Canelo) to concede to a CW. It probably irks you that Sergio Martinez conceded to Cotto, or Cotto conceded to Pacquiao. It probably kills you that Canelo won the MW title @ 155 (It hurts me badly!) in the first place. But boxing is a business. Where I come from there is a saying: IF IT AIN'T ABOUT DOLLARS, THEN IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!" IMO K2 has a "fiduciary responsibility" (look it up) to make this fight happen, even if they concede to a catch-weight! To allow you're fighter to miss out on a chance to fight Andre Ward and Canelo Alvarez is almost criminal! You think your hero GGG needs the belt, I think he (GGG) needs the fight! Let's just agree to disagree, and then you can "get off my d*ck!"

You're still not getting it. There's nothing for K2 to agree to, Canelo is now saying Ggg needs to earn the right to fight him, sometime later

He literally sets his weight division at the lowest weight he can cut to. Whatever he can cut to that's his division.
Couldn't make 154 anymore but wasn't good enough to be a middleweight. Invented 155.

Still weighs more than Gennady in the ring.

                  You saw the weights.....

                  159 - Golovkin
                  155 - Canelo
                  146 - Mayweather

Canelo has weighed 154.5 - 155 for his last few fights.

Golovkin has weighed 159 - 160 for his last few fights.

The " JMW is bigger than MW " argument..... is ridiculous.

                  It is reaching baaaaadly !

The total amount of functional muscle-mass and conditioning that you can take into a fight is determined at the official weigh-in..... not the next day.

Boxing uses weight divisions for a reason.

Accept 155, or "sometime later." That's been repeated a thousand times! That's why Sanchez said "not one ounce." He's (Sanchez and Team GGG) been responding (negotiating) except he feels that GGG, and not Canelo, is the one with the upper hand! ****** move, supported by ****** fans! Canelo vs. Kirkland, Canelo vs. Cotto, and just wait and see what Canelo vs. Khan does! Khan is getting more as the challenger than GGG got as the champ x 2. I'm sure BJ Saunders will get him more money, power, and respect...NOT! Men talk, women talk...numbers never lie! I hope you're still a fan of GGG once he concedes to a CW!

You made that up, there's no 155 or nothing offer. It's strictly nothing. In any case we'll know in a few days. They're ordered to start negotiating after Khan, I'm telling you GBP is not coming to the table with 155 or whatever
