Golovkin's been ready for this fight since Canelo won the belt. Canelo, or at least Golden Boy, is not. If it's about the belt, Canelo will vacate and say he's not ready to fight at 160. No big deal. GGG can take the belt and move onto Saunders, Jacobs, etc... If GGG really wants the fight, he probably already knows a weight he'd be willing to go down to in order to make it happen now. We'll find out in a few weeks.
i doubt that canelo vacates, it will be the right thing to do in my opinion, but like i said his ego is too big... if they dont agree on a fight, it will all come down to the wbc and ggg's camp...that will be a difficult decision for both.. but we wont know this until 2 or 3 more weeks, until then, like you said is all posturing...

The WBC has stuck their neck out pretty far on this one. GGG supposedly has the terms of the agreement in a signed contract. It'll take a lot of fancy footwork to dance their way out of this. They will no doubt be crossing their fingers that a deal can be made. That said, they've known this day was coming for a while now, they'll have a plan B. Will be interesting to see how it all works out.

      • By the time this fight materializes Canelo himself may not even be able to make 155. Regardless, GGG will eventually give in if he wants to be the breakthrough star in boxing.

You think rejecting 155 for a MW mando/unification is bull****? Or wrong thread? Garcia is a former fighter, now trainer

There's video proof of Ward saying he was not serious about fighting Floyd and that he can't get down to 160.

Unless you can show me similar video proof of anyone on Team Golovkin retracting their "he'll fight anyone from 154 to 168" statement then I'll have to continue to assume that they actually were serious. And I'll continue to call them out for failing to live up to it.
For both duh. How old are you, 11?

Did team Ward put out a "was only joking" video about him becoming HW champ by 31 or beating Klitschko?

You're still not getting it, eh? Figures. It's simple, dumb****. In those cases the much smaller guys, former Sfw champs WANTED to fight the much bigger guy so demanded reasonable CWs, they weren't forced or threatened with strippage. Here this paper champ is ordered to fight his same size mando who he's desperate to avoid hence unreasonable CW demand, but not even an offer. Need more help?

No. Being a hypocrite is BS.

We already know Canelo is a diva so no need to comment on that. It just seems that Golovkin is only willing to move up or down for fighters he thinks he can beat.

I was addressing the poster who claimed that some people fight for gold and others fight for glory.

If you believe that's the thinking of an 11 year old then take it up with him. He's the one that brought it up.

Move up or down for a big fight, not complicated. Want to fight an A sider from another division, make the weight concession. Show me the hypocrisy
