The thing I dont understand is that Canelo knew that Golovkin was the WBC mandatory, knew that Golovkin had agreed to the step aside on the condition that he fight the winner. He agreed to these terms and now wants to act like fighting Golovkin is a foreign concept. If he us not or was not a middleweight, he should have taken that into consideration prior to making such agreement. Now its time to put up or shut up

Boxing BS
Looks like Oscar and Canelo are already laying the ground work for him to eventually relinquish the title. No shock there, as I don't think anyone outside of diehard Mexican fans would give Canelo any shot to win. If he can't make 154 and he won't fight at 160, where are the opponents going to come from? Who does GBP think they can match this guy up with to justify his continued insistence on being a "PPV" fighter? Don't think Tecante wants to see another rematch with Lara.

I'm so over hearing this s***. Why can't Canelo just be a man, he is fooling nobody. Just drop the belt off at ringside on May 7th and f*** off back to Mexico I'm done hearing about how a dude who weighs 180 pounds fight night is a f***ing welterweight.

I havnt made 154 in three years, and fought two JRMW at 155
Ok, was a 160 titles involved in the Lara fight?
Was a 160 title involved in the Kirkland fight?
Was it involved in the Trout fight?
Anyone who buys this line is knowingly lying to themselves.
But ok, if Canelo isn't a true MW, neither is GGG. But they are going to be fight for six 160 pound titles between the two of them
WBC, wba, IBF, IBO, LINEAL AMD RING MAG.
SIX TITLES. YOU OWN THREE. YOU COME IN HEAVIER THAN GGG. YOURE A MW.

canola and his team must sit around nights trying to think up any excuse why he can't or wont fight golovkin at the full 160 i firmly believe billy joe saunders KO's this fraud at 160 the really bad part of this is that the wbc let this crap go on since "maravilla" held the title at 160

Since his loss to Mayweather every time Canelo fought was at the middleweight limit and not junior MW.
Angulo 155
Kirkland 155
Lara 155
Cotto 155 (Canelo asked for 156, Cotto insisted on 155)
Khan 155
Also so much for not weighing over 170 on fight night:
Fight night weights: Canelo 174, Angulo 170. #CaneloAngulo #boxing

ESPN Deportes on Canelo vs Cotto
The other issue that so far still trying weight is about. Both agree they do not need to go to 160 pounds, because neither one is a natural middleweight, but there is a difference pound. Cotto wants 155 pounds, but Canelo prefer 156 pounds. They are in the tug of war.

All the Cotto fans kept saying that Cotto would fight GGG, if no Mayweather or Canelo rematch materialized, but no one wanted to listen. Instead, everyone went against him, and we received atrocious scorecards that night vs Canelo.
Now what? Canelo won't fight GGG, and it has nothing to do with having better prospects. Boxing fans and media ended up on the wrong side. They should've supported Cotto, even if they thought he was making too many "demands."
