His win over algieri wasn't that impressive. Algieri couldn't knock khan down. Algieri is a ok fighter. His the next big thing. Until he fights the top welterweight guys then we can say how truly good he is. And why call out pacquiao when that fight is nearly impossible to make.

derppp pac can't cut off the ring i guess he loses, lets forget who's landing the cleaner punches because i think pac should fight a certain way. pac wasn't even trying to cut off the ring so yea if you thought he was trying you kinda missed what was actually happenign in that fight. no surprise of course since most people missed what happened. pac landed the much cleaner punches from the outside. yes he tried to flurry every now and then but that wasn't his gameplan. just like it wasn't his gameplan against algeiri, rios, or bradley 2. i guess they beat him according to spence. he didn't do what spence wanted him to do wtf!

I think Manny would win. I notice there are posters in this thread that echoed Hectari's thought that Algieiri was a "tough style matchup" for Manny prior to their fight.

If those posters were being honest (and not just trying to make an easy Manny win seem tough) then Spence, who is the same height, has the same reach but is faster and stronger and superior to Algieiri in every way (except footwork IMO), would also be a tough style matchup, right? Could he possibly beat Manny, given his superiority to Algieiri?

Did you guys even read the article? He was asked why he was able to stop Algieri while Pacquiao couldn't. He gave his opinion on why he was able to stop him and he was right.

Even if Manny never was good at cutting off the ring, Errol is talking out of his @ss IMO.
A smart and humble guy wouldn't dare to compare himself to a recognized ATG of the sport.
Spence hasn't been yet in a simple world title.

Spence beat a guy who won a belt at 140 and never was a threat at 147.

The title makes it sound worse than it actually is. I was going to say that Spence should worry about his career as Pacquiao has cemented his legacy, but he simply answered a question honestly. Pacquiao cannot cut off the ring which allows fighters to enter survival mode.

With that said, I think there's a bit more to it. Pacquiao's inability to cut off the ring cost him against Mayweather, but I don't think it was a factor against Algieri as I don't think he wanted to hurt him. It seemed obvious to me that Algieri was carried to the end of the fight.

You guys read into it what you want cause that's what you are doing. Spence answered the question by telling the truth, Pacquiao doesn't cut off the ring well and you can see it in his fights.

Exactly. In fact there's videos of Spence actually saying very nice things about Pac and giving him a lot of respect. Spence is a humble guy, he was just responding to a question, not attacking Manny
